The story from Cool Runnings is based on actual events. It takes a few liberties, as all movies do--the Jamaicans were never in medal contention, as the movie suggests--but it's an awesome feel-good story, you know?
"If you're not enough without it [a gold medal], you'll never be enough with it."
So, I did a little bit of searching, I was interested to see whether they were still part of the Olympics. Turns out, they are. They're based in Evanston, Wyoming.
