Kassi's Note: It's just the green necessities of life! Lots of
things are happening on this particular evening, some--but not all--
pertaining to greens and their risings. Asabeth sets it off by rising
to mate, which later leads a flight-lost Channie to get into something
of a fight with A'lex; several Turndays are discovered, Kassi has a
chance to give her newest mentee The Speech, and a promotion is made.
Things prefixed by Lysseth> in this log take place in the Southern
Bowl.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Log:

You walk past the lintel and into the wide living cavern.

C'vadan notices the tail end of the salute and returns it rotely. "Hey
there, Kassima," he greets the greenrider.

Lysseth> Asabeth eyes Lysseth and rises to her hind legs. She bugles a
challenge, though whether it's directed at the green or the gathered males,
it's unclear.

K'dar eyes Aladis, with a resigned glance out to the bowl. He nods politely
to Kassima, shifting on his feet uncertainly

Telgar Weyr> Aladis says, "Um. Here's a good question. How does one find
the guest weyr from the LC? :)"

"Happiness is the sight of Katari heading far, far away from Telgar," Kassi
groans, waddling into the room and shaking her head ruefully. "The next
time I forget to answer a letter from home promptly, someone should just
shoot me and put me out of m'misery that way. Heya, Cav, Aladis, all. Nie!
Good t'see you again; duties to High Reaches and her queens, and to both of
you." She nods to both brownriders with a flickered smile, before plunking
with a decided lack of grace into her seat.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "You know, since we've moved I have no clue. I
am still learning where things are here."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "From the South Bowl, it's GW. :)"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis thanks Kassi!

Aladis brightly, "Kassima!" She approaches her fellow greenrider with open
arms and perhaps just a bit of sway to her walk. Awfully friendly, what?

Lysseth> Dulath issues a soft warble of greeting to Lysseth.

Lysseth> Lysseth simply yawns widely at the other green's bugle, to all
appearances not at all impressed. She curls up in a ball on the opposite
side of the Bowl from Her Proddiness and watches the going's-on with mildly
whirling eyes of cerulean.

Channie waves to Kassima, setting her helmet down on a table top. "'Reaches
duty to Telgar and her queen's as well. It's good to see again! I was
hoping you'd show up."

Lysseth> Leventh is confident in his extra space, and warbles entreatingly
in response to the green's challenge. Ever open to possibilities, he gives
a polite greeting to the newly arrived green

Lysseth> Kemith warbles happily to Lysseth, pulling his attention away from
Asabeth for a moment to greet his old friend.

Kassima blinks at Aladis, then darts a glance out to the Bowl. Uh-oh.
Where's a great big hole o' escape when you need one. "Afternoon t'you too,
Aladis," she hazards, daring a somewhat hesitant smile to the other
greenrider. Channie's words receive a reply of, "Oh?"

Lysseth> Asabeth gives a snort, settling to all feet again. She turns her
back to the males, tail lashing with repressed tension.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima dons her tour guide cap and grins at Aladis. Glad t'be
of service. :)

Aladis presses a kiss to each of Kassima's cheeks. "Beautiful afternoon,
don't you agree?"

C'vadan catches Kassima's reaction to Aladis and starts to gather up his
hides quickly.

Lysseth> Dulath lumbers north.

Lysseth> Leventh lumbers north.

C'vadan drops his hides all over the floor when he realizes he is too late.
"Shards."

Channie watches Aladis and Kassi curiously but says, "Yeah, I thought I'd
come bother you again. Since last time things got cut short, and you feel
asleep in the springs." Yup, she's just too cheerful for a rider whose
dragon is about to go sprinting off after a green. Or maybe she just
doesn't mind that much.

Kassima's jaw sags for just a moment before she snaps it shut, smiling a
smile that hides her unease rather well; after all these Turns, she's had a
measure of practice at that. "Um. Well, 'tis nay bad as afternoons go, I
suppose... are the males blooding, Cav?" Reprieve! Reprieve!

C'vadan kneels down to gather his hides again. "Yes, Kassi," he replies,
glancing at Aladis. "Cait is not going to be happy," he murmurs.

Sandar watches the riders act real weird all of a sudden, but of course has
no clue what's going on. He watches the dragons in the bowl hop over the
fence to the feeding grounds. "Must be lunchtime," he confides to Kassi.

Aladis casts an annoyed glance at C'vadan, tone accusing, "You've done this
on purpose." Once again facing Kassima, with a bright smile upon her
features, "I suppose I shall just have to catch up with you again later, my
dear."

Sandar waves to Aladis. "Have a pleasant day," he bids the greenrider. If
he only knew.

Lysseth> Asabeth crankily wanders after the males. Seeing them make fools
of themselves should fix her mood.

Lysseth> Asabeth lumbers north.

C'vadan is used to being accused and abused by proddy greenriders. Kassima
has conditioned well. He merely nods and doesn't say anything. "Sandar, can
you take these hides for me, please?" he asks.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar will figure it out sooner or later. He's lived in a
Weyr for some turns now.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis says, "Asabeth takes the long way around. How many
animals can she panic in one afternoon? :)"

"Uh, aye. Right. A'course, Aladis," Kassi says, trying hard not to look too
relieved. "Nie, I'm afraid this visit's apt t'be cut short, too. And
Sandar, methinks 'tis more flight time than lunch time... is there plenty
of wine available in Stores?"

Sandar nods to Cav. "Sure," he replies. "Take them where?" he asks as he
picks them up from the ground where Cav dropped them.

Telgar Weyr> K'tyn pops on for a minute to snug everyone. ;) heya

Channie sighs and gulps down the rest of her rather hot cider before
standing. "I guess I should make sure Kemith is alright." Darn, another
visit down the drain.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis waves to the sexy Weyrleader. :)

Telgar Weyr> K'tyn laughs! Where?

Sandar hears Kassi's comment, and promptly drops the hides again. "What?
Flight time? Now? Whose dragon?" As he's speaking, the hides hit the ground
with a *thud*.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima pokes a hand up from the Great Big Hole O' Escape
she's hiding in to waffle to Kiat. :)

Aladis stomps out of the room after giving C'vadan another accusing glare.

Aladis walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

K'dar walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan snugs Kiat. "Help me! I'm being abused by a greenrider!"

Kassima jerks a thumb after Aladis. "Flight time. Now. And the lucky
green--or soon t'be lucky green, depending on how you look at it--would be
Aladis's Asabeth."

Telgar Weyr> Aladis's attempts to seduce the entire Weyr are thwarted by
C'vadan causing her dragon to Rise. :)

Channie walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

C'vadan sighs and follows. You'd think he'd be used to this by now.

C'vadan walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Oh, right, Cav. Like you're not used to that by
now? ;)"

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "You be quiet, Kassi :)"

Lysseth> Aladis marches right towards the guest weyr, not looking at those
following her or at the dragons in the north.

Lysseth> Aladis moves down a short passage and past a curtain, moving out
of sight as she enters the Guest Weyr.

Sandar acks. "Aladis? Ogosh." He picks up the hides and scampers off with
them to the wine stores.

Sandar walks towards the inner cavern.

Lysseth> C'vadan stays long enough to see that his dragon is serious about
chasing and then follows Aladis.

Lysseth> C'vadan moves down a short passage and past a curtain, moving out
of sight as he enters the Guest Weyr.

Lysseth> K'dar moves down a short passage and past a curtain, moving out of
sight as he enters the Guest Weyr.

Lysseth> Channie looks towards the feeding grounds, and then at the guest
weyr. "Jays!!"

Telgar Weyr> K'tyn laughs at Cav. I can't icly come out, sorry! I have
guests from out of touwn and while they're getting showered andso forth,
I've reclaimed my CPU. :)

Lysseth> Channie moves down a short passage and past a curtain, moving out
of sight as she enters the Guest Weyr.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima fehs. You had it easy, Cav. She just glared at you,
and you're used to that. ;)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan grumbles. :)

Telgar Weyr> Aladis could beat you up, if you'd prefer, Cav. :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "Oh boy! Oh boy! :)"

Telgar Weyr> N'ren would prefer you do that, Aladis. Beat the ever-living
daylights out of C'vadan.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis says, "You get no vote, since you aren't chasing. :)"

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan blinks at N'ren.

Kassima gets to her feet with a bit more difficulty, heading for the
storerooms herself to fulfill her usual function during flights: procurer
and purveyor of alcoholic goods. "Should be a respectable turnout, with
those 'Reachians here," she observes.

Telgar Weyr> N'ren just likes to watch rider get beat up during Flights.
Brings a little excitement. I can't chase - another Pern person is coming
to visit RL, any time.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "Well, maybe I can provide you the entertainment
next flight, N'ren :)"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis grins at N'ren. :)

Telgar Weyr> N'ren says, "Hey, I've been involved in knife fights during
green flights. It's something I never forget."

Telgar Weyr> Sandar waves to Wyn.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn says, "Flight still going on? :)"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Still blooding, yep. :)"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis is pausing to see if a disconned person returns.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn woos. :)

Alwyn pads into the living cavern quietly, and smiles some, "G'deve Kassima,"

Kassima glances over from where she's arranging several skins of wine on a
table not far from the exit. She nods to Alwyn. "G'deve, yourself. Here
t'see the post-flight fun and games in a bit?"

Alwyn sighs and nods to Kassi, "Aye,"

Alwyn grins, "Just think, for once it wasn't you and Lysseth that didn't
rise."

Telgar Weyr> K'tyn snugs and runs away to give the cpu back to guests who
are (sigh) playing Diablo-Hellfire. :)BBL!

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan snugs Kiat :)

Kassima's brow furrows as she mouths, 'Nay Lysseth and I who didn't rise?'
Shaking her head, she seems to get the gist of what Alwyn meant, if not
what he said. "Oh, Lyss doesn't rise so often as all of *that*. She goes up
fairly infrequently for a green, actually. Inbetween times, there're plenty
of other flights t'be dispensing wine for. Care t'help me with getting
these skins set out?"

Alwyn nods, "Aye, I'd like that. And sorry if I sound..tired? I had a long
night and only a little sleep." he smiles, and yawns. "But yes, I'd like to
help with the wine."

Kassima steps back from the table, gesturing to the collection of wine.
"Feel free, then. And worry nay about sounding tired; Faranth knows, I'm
guilty enough of that sometimes of late."

Alwyn nods, "Aye, so I saw in the springs the other day. Nothing would wake
you." he grins.

Kassima snorts and hefts one of the wine-skins in mock-threat. "When a way
is discovered t'make men get pregnant, Alwyn, you'll nay be poking fun! I
really should've chosen a better place for sleeping, though. I looked like
a bloody prune when I finally woke up and got out of the water. Can y'bring
a few glasses over here? Most folk will like as nay be drinking straight
from the skin, but y'never know."

Alwyn nods, "Aye," he gets several glasses from the tables and sets them up
near to Kassima.

Kassima nods in thanks, lowering herself into a chair at the table once the
skins are arranged to her satisfaction. "Asabeth's really running them
ragged, Lyss says. There've been a few dropouts already."

Alwyn says "Is there really? Get the skins ready then.."

"They already are," Kassi observes, closing her eyes for a moment.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn EEPs!! "It's Wyn's Turnday."

Lysseth> K'dar emerges from the passage leading to the guest weyr.

Lysseth> Leventh backwings for a landing.

Alwyn pours some wine for himself, sipping at it.

Kassima's eyes snap open, and she looks out towards the Bowl. "Lyss reports
that the catch seems t'be Dulath's," she says, a moment before some of the
riders whose dragons dropped out of the flight, finished comforting their
lifemates now, wander into the room in search of drinks. Breaking the seal
on a skin of 'Red, Kassi pours several glasses and dispenses them where
they're needed.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis ut ohs. :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "Cait is gonna kill me :)"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima hopes to be around to watch when she does. It's bound
to be a bloody show. ;)

Telgar Weyr> Aladis considers. "Can I borrow that hole digging shovel,
Kassi?" :)

Telgar Weyr> Kindre hee's and wanna be here for the Blood show, too!!

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Sure, but you'll have to ask Tria for it. It's
hers, not mine. ;)"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis damns. :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "I wonder who will let me stay with them until
Cait stops throwing things? :)"

Telgar Weyr> Ursa says, "what'd ya do this time, Cav?"

Telgar Weyr> Kindre would gladly offer, but don't think Kiat'd be too
amiable to the idea ;)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "Duly caught Asabeth."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima bets N'thren or B'fus would volunteer!

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "Ursahoney!"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis looks at Ursa, "Save me!"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima would offer, but there's just no room. Unless you want
to sleep on a stack of empty boxes or something. Heya, Bear-Lady! :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan snugs Ursa, btw :)

Telgar Weyr> Ursa won't let even Cait hurt one of her wing riders. :)
Except Cav....... :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan d'oh!

Telgar Weyr> Aladis grins.

Lysseth> Leventh rumbles softly, curling up to rest

K'dar walks in from the bowl.

"Wine, rider?" Kassi offers from where she sits at a table stocked
liberally with skins, proffering one.

Telgar Weyr> Ursa says, "Hasn't Cait got used to this sort of behaviour
yet, Cav?"

K'dar's haggard face takes on a cast of wry amusement. "No.. thank you. I
don't drink." He pauses, as if gathering his thoughts. "Is there cider
around?"

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan says, "Hey! It wasn't my fault that the first time
Duly decides to give chase it was after Asabeth :)"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis wonders if painting Asabeth blue would do any good? :)

Kassima nods, gesturing towards the appropriate pitcher. "Heated and
spiced, aye--or 'twas when last I checked. Beware of the klah. Either its
M'kla's, which is lethal, or Pierron's, which is dishwater."

K'dar pours himself a mug, relaxing a bit as the steam reaches his nose.
After a sip, he says, "Well some things don't change, then, wherever you go.."

Telgar Weyr> Ursa says, "Why don't you just castrate Duly? That would make
Cait much happier. Less things broken and thrown, all that."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima offers Cav an emasculator?

Telgar Weyr> <C'vadan> Dulath is not amused.

Kassima chuckles, quirking up an eyebrow. "Which? That there's cider about,
or that the klah is always awful? From what I've heard, anyway. The only
klah I've drunk in ages was Flirk's."

Telgar Weyr> Jalimax offers to help ?

Alwyn shudders as he hears the words Flirks and klah together,

"The klah," the 'Reaches rider says. "Last time I had decent klah at home
was when Matheny'd made it"

"I've heard the legends of E'dran's from Mart," Kassi comments. "Any drink
you need a knife and fork t'be tasting isn't for me."

Telgar Weyr> Aladis considers getting double duty from Ursa so that no one
can see her for a long time. :)

Telgar Weyr> Ursa says, "Dawn and sunset sweeps? Sounds so very
desirable... :)"

K'dar nods. He seems to be recovering some of his color, though a slight
tightness around the eyes indicates that he's still keeping tight control
of himself. "That's our feeling too. We get through a lot of juice and cider"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis should never rp when watching Shakespeare. It affects
her posing. :)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan chuckles. It is a good thing there isn't sexual
harassment on Pern. A Wi2 sleeping with one of his Wingriders could get
ugly if there were :)

Kassima raises the glass of citron she procured for herself some time ago
in a toast to that sentiment. "Hear, hear. Juice and cider are the *only*
things t'drink--well, those and wine. Klah and water just aren't safe, and
milk... bleah."

Telgar Weyr> Ursa will get ugly if you really want, Cav.. :) Anyhow, I'm
outta here. Take care, folksies.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis waves to Ursa!

Aladis walks in from the bowl.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan snugs Ursa :)

Telgar Weyr> Kassima zhaisnugs the bear. :)

K'dar has just raised a mug of cider to Kassima's toast, and blinks to see
Aladis

C'vadan walks in from the bowl.

C'vadan walks in behind Aladis, clothes mostly arranged.

Aladis preceeds C'vadan into the cavern, gaze avoiding the folks in the
room. She makes a straight line for the klah.

K'dar courteously clears the path, sipping at his cider as he looks for a seat

Kassima's eyebrows arch upwards a touch as the two riders reemerge, but she
doesn't say anything, instead nodding a greeting to both of them--and
giving V'dan a swift elbow in the ribs as he starts to say, "Yeesh, that
was fa--hey! Ow! Kassi, if you don't cut that out, you're gonna break a rib
one of these days...." Ignoring the whining greenrider, the Wingsecond
inquires, "Either of you want some wine? There's plenty still left, as you
can see."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima adores V'dan. He's such a convenient portable
punching-bag. :)

C'vadan shakes his head as he heads for the Dawnslight table. "No thank
you," he declines softly. He never once looks at K'dar.

Aladis croaks, "Wine, please." Then she clears her throat, leaving the mug
of klah she poured forgotten upon the table. "I'd appreciate some wine, yes."

Kassima holds out a pair of glasses, one filled with White and the other
with Red. "Both Benden; I'd nay try and foist the Swill off on another
greenrider. Or, if'n you'd prefer, just take a whole 'skin. Red's to the
right, White's to the left."

Aladis accepts a glass of the white, "I'm not quite ready for an entire
skin yet." She sits down in a nearby chair, awkwardly. Her gaze studiously
avoids resting on anyone who participated in the flight.

Silanda walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Silanda walks out, sewing basket in hand, and sits in her usual seat with a
quick wave to those she knows.

Alwyn just continues slowly sipping what wine he has and smiles to Sil, "Hi
Silanda,"

C'vadan tries to think where those hides are, but his mind isn't completely
clear. "Uh... anyone seen my hides?"

Aladis chokes slightly on a swallow of wine. She coughs, setting the glass
down carefully.

K'dar seems amused, noting, "You gave them to that Steward... Sandar?"

A greenrider, whistling cheerfully, saunters past C'vadan on his way out.
"Hey, good showing," he informs the brownrider. "I won three quarters off
of B'fus on that flight!" Without further ado, he disappears out to the Bowl.

Silanda grins at Alwyn, then gives Aladis a concerned look.

Kassima nods, waving to Silanda with a slightly furrowed brow. "Sandar
disappeared right about at the flight's start. Mayhaps he still has your
hides, Cav."

Aladis grimaces faintly after the greenrider. "Just wait 'til /your/ green
rises," she mutters.

If looks could kill, there would be one less greenrider in the Phantom
Wing. "Oh, thanks," says Cav to those who tell him about Sandar.

Alwyn says "Sandy's only an Assistant Steward, *he adds just that to the
conversation, he goes back to listening to the riders' conversation
quietly, still sipping his white wine*"

Telgar Weyr> Aladis is not ashamed of creating NPC participants for her
flight, nopenope. :)

Telgar Weyr> Kindre has to go for a bit...she's been sitting here on and
off for, oh, 10 hours :b :}

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan snugs Kin and thanks her!

"Knowing that one, he'll probably make a mint betting on his own flight,"
Kassima remarks drolly. "But then, Chanceth doesn't always go the way
W'ger'd prefer. Should've heard him squeal when he lost three and a half
after her fourth!"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima snugsnugs a Kinbabe! Y'all be well, Artist-Lady! :)

Silanda chuckles softly at that. "Yes, I keep hearing that the dragon's
choice doesn't always match her rider's..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre giggles...Artless Lady is more like ;) *snugs!* I'll be
back...not seeing the SO tonight, which leaves me free to MUSH! :)

Aladis lifts up her glass and sips from the contents, her first smile
appearing after Kassima's comments. "Too true." And a more wry smile to
Silandra, "Also true." Then, quickly, embarassed, "No offense, Cav..."

C'vadan smiles genuinely. "No offense taken, Aladis."

Silanda raises an eyebrow at Aladis. "Was that your green I just heard out
in the bowl?" she asks, more bluntly than her wont.

Another grimace as Aladis says, "It was, yes."

Kassima snorts faintly at Silanda. "Dead in the black, that. If'n
dragon-choice and rider-choice had aught 'tall t'do with each other, Lyss
would never have been flown by males with female riders. Want some wine?
There's some left over yet, and most of these skins will just go back to
Stores for the next flight anyway."

C'vadan never noticed that his Dawnslight patch was starting to unravel
slightly.

Silanda shrugs slightly to Kassi. "I suppose I could do with a glass..."

"Red, or White?" Kassi asks, reaching towards the already-poured glasses.

K'dar shakes his head slightly, faint smile touching his lips as he listens
to the exchanges. "If you'll all excuse me," he says quietly, "I should be
heading back to the 'Reaches"

Alwyn nods to Sil, still silent, as is his style during such times after
flights. He sips some more of his wine, frowning at one of the defeated
blueriders who seems to be drunk. "Sir..." he says softly, "Go to your
weyr.." he shakes his head sadly to the drunken blue rider and glances
t'wards Silanda before wrinkling his nose in disgust once more at the
drunken blue rider.

Aladis glances finally at K'dar, "Safe flight, brownrider. Telgar's duties."

Silanda smiles bemusedly. "White, please...that wouldn't be Benden, would it?"

C'vadan looks up at K'dar. "Give my regards to your weyrmate and Keriann,
will you, K'dar?"

K'dar nods to C'vadan. "I'll be sure to." Then to Aladis, and all. "Thank
you. Reaches' duties, and clear skies"

Kassima nods, half-saluting K'dar with one of the leftover wineskins.
"Duties to the 'Reaches and her queens, rider, and fair be the winds t'you
and your brown. Aye, a'course 'tis Benden. 'Twould nay risk having drunk,
upset riders trying t'throttle me with m'bare hands once they realize I've
given 'em Swill; I've a bit more survival skill than that!"

K'dar walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Kassima muses thoughtfully, "A'course, after a particularly long flight,
'tis sometimes safe t'give Swill. They're usually too distracted t'realize
*what* they're drinking. Reason number four-thousand and eighty two why I'm
glad t'be a greenrider...."

Silanda nods to that, and reaches for a glass. "Ahh, this Benden stuff is
fine..."

C'vadan gets up and heads for the serving table. "I'm in the mood for
cider. Do we have any?"

Aladis chuckles quietly at Kassima's comment, "I suppose, lacking the need
to get drunk at the end of a flight is a bonus."

Kassima nods in agreement, eyeing a glass of 'Red with something
approaching longing. "'Tis indeed. I'm counting the days until I can drink
it again, I assure you; it's been entirely too long! Hmmm, Cav? Oh,
aye--spiced and heated, in yon blue pitcher there." Her nod to Aladis is
also one of agreement. "You'd nay believe how many of the reasons are
connected to just that."

Aladis considers her now empty glass, "Could you get me some of the cider
as well, Cav?" She seems more at ease for the drink now, than she was when
she entered the cavern.

Alwyn runs both hands in his hair and sighs contently, getting somewhat of
a buzz from the wine already. He looks about and nods affirmatively as the
drunken blue rider that was sitting next to him is no longer there, gone to
seek out his lifemate or even better, his weyr.

C'vadan pours two mugs and returns to the table, handing one to Aladis.
"M'lady," he says with a wink, apperaing more at ease with the circumstances.

Aladis accepts the mug, "My thanks." She takes a sip of the liquid, then
lets out a slow sigh, leaning back in her seat.

C'vadan takes his seat and sips at the cider.

Kassima shakes her head in amusement, getting up to waddle over to the
pitcher herself. "Now t'see how long it takes Veyath t'realize she's due...
or several of the Weyrling greens, for that matter. I hope Asrai caves in
and goes to a Healer a'fore K'nan's proddy, or he might even be in a worse
temper than usual--and wouldn't *that* be a horror?"

Silanda frowns at that. "Why's Asrai need to go to a healer?"

Kassima resumes her seat with a steaming mug of cider clasped in her hands.
"She's nay feeling well," the greenrider explains. "She got sick in K'nan's
riding helmet the other night. Looks t'be some sort of flu. She doesn't
want t'go to the Healer, but he's insisting; if'n I could find anyone
willing t'take the bet, m'marks would be on K'nan getting his way."

Silanda winces. "I hope he does, if it's the flu."

C'vadan arches a brow. "The flu? Or the Benden flu?"

Alwyn says "What's the difference?"

Silanda raises an eyebrow at C'vadan, then looks thoughtfully over at Kassi.

Aladis wraps her fingers about her mug, listening quietly to the talk. Her
gaze rests for a moment upon the swell of Kassima's abdomen.

"One sickness lasts a few days; the other lasts nine months," is Kassi's
response to Alwyn's question. "I'truth, I suppose it *could* be either
one... seems as though 'twas nay too long since she spawned the triplets,
though. And besides, she's nay drunk of the Water."

Alwyn blinks... "Oh..." then realization washes over his face. "_Oh_.." he
chuckles softly at that, shaking his head.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn chuckles at Wyn, Telgar's resident Country Bumpkin. :)

Telgar Weyr> Kassima suspects that Redneck Weyr is full of country
bumpkins. ;)

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan laughs.

Kassima flashes Alwyn a grin, then arches an eyebrow at Cav. "I don't
suppose," she drawls thoughtfully, "that you'd care t'be making another
wager on Asrai's spawningness, or lack thereof?"

C'vadan hehs. "That one is a regular spawn spitter, Kassima."

Kassima affects a pout. "Is that a nay? Shardit, how'm I *ever* supposed
t'get m'self another servant if'n you won't bet with me? Feh. Where's your
sense of adventure, brownrider?"

Aladis rises, abruptly, setting her mug upon the table. "If you'll all
excuse me, I've got some unpacking to do." She nods to those gathered and
heads towards the bowl.

Silanda waves to Aladis.

C'vadan starts to respond to Kassima, then stops when Aladis stands
abruptly. "Clear skies, Aladis," he replies.

Kassima looks up to nod and wave to Aladis in parting. "By all means. Fair
winds t'you and Aladis, g'deve, and all of that sort of thing."

Alwyn waves some and sets his head against the chair, putting his jacket on
again. "I feel a draft.." he chuckles at Kassi's goodbye to Aladis, shaking
his head at the weird greenrider before downing the last of the Benden
white in his glass.

Aladis walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan needs to run. Groceries are needed, I am told.

Telgar Weyr> Aladis hugs Cav and folks. "Thank you for the rp!"

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn hrmfs and needs to go get groceries soon too.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima awwws and zhaisnugs the Cavman. G'night, Aladis!
Congrats on the froody flight. :)

C'vadan finishes his cider. "I think I will hunt down Sandar and get those
hides."

Kassima heaves a sigh, shaking her head ruefully. "Even V'dan refuses
t'take servitude wagers from me anymore. I swear, I don't understand why.
Am I *that* bad a taskmaster?" She affects a morose expression for a
moment, then abandons it with a wrinkled nose. "Good luck, Cav. Faranth
only knows where he's run off to; mayhaps the Stores, or someplace."

Silen enters from the inner cavern.

Telgar Weyr> C'vadan waits long enough for Kassi to say goodbye :)

C'vadan walks towards the inner cavern.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima snugs. You've my eternal gratitude for that, Cav. :)

Alwyn grins and waves to Silen, "Hi Silen."

Halam walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Silen walks out, waving to his mother and the others before heading for the
wine with an interested look. "Hiya, Wyn."

Halam walks into the cavern looks around and heads over to the hearth,
pours himself a cup of klah and turns to survey the room with a smile.

Silanda automatically calls out, "Only one glass, Silen. And drink it
slowly, it's the Benden."

Alwyn looks relatively happy, "I still can't believe I'm already sixteen
turns." he shakes his head.

Kassima wiggles her fingers greetingly at the newcomers, sipping leisurely
at her mug of now-cooled cider. "Just wait until you're twenty and five,
Alwyn. Believe me, that's even less believable."

Silen nods, and picks up a glass. "You've sixteen turns now, Wyn? Did I
miss your turnday?"

Silanda pulls a lump of fabric out of her basket and starts working on
it...though not before taking another sip of the Benden white.

Alwyn grins at Kassi, "Aye, I bet twenty and five would be momentous...."
he glances to Silen and shakes his head, "Nay. My turnday is today."

Silen grins. "Happy turnday! I'd no idea."

Telgar Weyr> Sandar says, "who won the flight?"

Alwyn grins, "No one really does...Except Ro and Makear and Maylia.." "The
twins evidently have the same turnday as I."

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn says, "C'vadan."

Telgar Weyr> Sandar nods.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn says, "And Sandy get down to the LC, :)"

Sandar walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Sandar meanders in. "Good evening!"

Silanda looks up and smiles. "Happy turnday, Alwyn. You should've told
people, you know." She waves to Sandar.

Silen finds a seat near Wyn and takes a tentative sip of the wine - he's
chosen the red. He blinks, several times.

Alwyn grins wide as he sees his friend, "Hi Sandy," then glances to Silen,
"Oh, I guess I should have told everyone, but I did tell some people."

Kassima smiles at Alwyn. "Happy Turnday, then. I hope you didn't receive
any horrid gifts like m'Aunt Simerva gave me for mine... oh, 'tis nay so
momentous as all of *that*. After all, you're only as old as y'feel, so I'm
usually just nineteen... though *these* days, I feel more like thirty or
forty. Sandar, there you are. Cav was looking for you--d'you still have his
hides, perchance?"

Halam smiles at Alwyn. "Happy turnday." and then grabs a plate of sweet
breads from the kitchen and heads over to an empty table and sits down.
Noticing Sandor entrance as he does, he waves a greeting.

Sandar nodnods. "Like me," he says, as he hands Alwyn a bundle of some sort.

Sandar blinks at Kassi's remark. "Ohdear, I must have left them in the wine
stores in my haste to get wine for the post-flight uh, ceremonies."

Sandar says "I'll make a note to myself to go get them for him presently."

Silen looks thoughtful for a moment or two, then abandons his glass to dash
into the kitchen.

Silen enters the kitchen.

Alwyn shows off his new belt, "Nay, just this beautiful belt from my
sister, Derva," he grins, then blinks at Sandar, "Sandy!!" he grins even
wider at the bundle and begins to open it,

Sandar grins as Alwyn opens his gift.

Kassima flicks her fingers towards the Bowl. "If'n you want people to know,
Alwyn, then just register in yon book in the Records Room. Several people
do, and 'tis nay end of aid when I'm trying t'figure out when's the right
day t'give so-and-so a present." Hiding a grin at Sandar, she nods. "You
may run into him on your way down there. If'n nay, well, surely someone can
be found to deliver 'em to Dulath's ledge."

Sandar grins at Kassi. "Well, being the Assistant Steward, that someone
will probably be me," he admits.

From the kitchen, Silen slips around several kitchen women, stopping to beg
something from one he knows before hurrying back out to the living cavern
with it.

Alwyn blinks, gaping happily at a scarf that matches his pride and joy -
wherhide jacket, "Oh, Sandy, it's _perfect_."

Silen comes here from the kitchen.

Sandar grins at Wyn. "I wove it myself," he says quite proudly. He's done
quite a good job... there's a nice harmony of browns, greens and beiges
that interlace throughout the scarf, as well as two nice tassled ends. "At
Telgar I supposed you might have some use for it," he grins.

Silen walks over to Wyn with something held behind his back...then holds it
out. It's a fresh-baked bubbly. "Sorry I didn't get you anything good," he
says, "but maybe this'll make up for it..."

Alwyn wraps the scarf around his neck and grins wide, "I was just saying
that I was feeling a draft even! he grins even wider as he sees Silen's
bubbly, "Oooh, it looks great Silen, and there's no need to get me anything
good, just the thought is what counts, Silen!" he smiles, "Thanks Silen,"

"Oh, that's a fine-looking accoutrement," Kassi says approvingly, eyeing
the scarf. "Hmmm. Scarves. Perhaps *that's* what I could get K'nan... nay,
nay, 'twould simply nay work."

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn hees as Wyn's head gets really big.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar grins.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar hmms at Kassi. "Maybe you could get K'nan a scarf with
little pointed ends, that could double as a flail of some sort?" he whispers.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar grins.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima hees! Actually, I'm considering a whip, but a crossbow
might be good too....

Silen plunks ungracefully into a seat, and grins. "You're welcome!"

Alwyn sets his bubbly down and unwraps the scarf so it doesn't get bubbly
on it. He wraps the scarf around the seat he sits on, and begins to eat his
very own bubbly, "Oh this is good.." he grins again at Silen.

Silanda looks over at the scarf. "That _is_ nice work, Sandar."

Mehlani walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Pierron sniffs at the klah pot, and throws the old klah out with a look of
disgust.

Silen waves to Mehlani. "It's Wyn's turnday," he informs her.

Sandar beams proudly at Silanda's comment, taking another look at his
creation. "Thanks," he says dumbly, nothing else in reply coming to his mind.

Alwyn grins at Sandar, "I've already got something in store for you and Ro
when it comes to your turnday."

Mehlani, slipping into the cavern, blinks at young Silen, then in Alwyn's
direction. Her brows knit, and then she murmurs, "Happy Turnday, Alwyn,"
when she is in earshot.

Alwyn smiles at Mehlani, "Thanks 'lani,"

Sandar smiles a good evening to Mehlani.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn says, "Anyone who gets Wyn a bag full of mushrooms is
deadmeat. ;)"

Telgar Weyr> Sandar falls down laughing.

Halam nods "Very nice Sandar. I didn't realize you were that talented."

Alwyn nods, "I did. I mean, he _does_ bake the best dragon cookies on Pern,
Halam.." he grins at his good friend and strokes the scarf again.

Kassima chuckles, murmuring, "Now there's a tradition I'm glad t'see
spreading," as she tugs a folded hide and a stick of charcoal from one
pocket. She starts jotting something down on the latter, but looks up long
enough to wave to Mehlani. "Evening, 'Lani."

Sandar grins. "My da's a retired Master Weaver," he explains. "He taught me
a lot of his Craft while I was growing up at the Weavercrafthall." He grins
at Alwyn. "The cookies, however, are a fluke."

Halam smiles quickly at Mehlani and then returns to his food.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar pats himself on the back for making himself of Weaver
descent. "Comes in very handy."

Mehlani flicks a small shy pair of smils to Halam and to Kassima, as she
pads kitchenwards, surreptitiously seeking food.

Alwyn raises a brow at Sandy, "You were saying that the other day...Ro and
I are going to the Weaver Hall sometime early this sevenday...Want to come
with us, Sandy?"

Sandar nodnods, having been informed of the trip already. "I'd very much
like that," he admits.

Silanda looks over, interested. "Could I convince you to pick up a few
things for me, by chance?"

Halam looks up attentatively. Who's going to the weaver hall?

Sandar nods. "Sure, I suppose, although my hands might be full of cloth and
seabeachplum wine. I'm sure we'll have room. Or perhaps Silen can join us?"

Silanda looks over at her son, who shrugs. "I wouldn't mind," the boy says.
"But I dunno much about cloth..."

"I could help with the picking of the cloth," Sandy says. "It's the
carrying that would be the problem. I'm sure we can handle, either way," he
tells Silanda.

Halam says "you could look up my friend Pelar. He would help you picking
out cloth. He's a 'prentice there.""

Kassima looks up from her letter. "What're you lot shopping for?" she asks
curiously. "Kilts?"

Silanda smiles. "I can probably just give him a list, too. The weavers will
know what I mean, and I'm sure you would too, Sandar..."

Sandar nods to Silanda. "Sure, I'd be glad to help, and I know my da would
too."

Sandar also grins at Halam. "Really? I will definitely look for him while
I'm there. It would be nice to meet a friend of yours."

Sandar hrmphs at Kassi's comment. He isn't wearing no skirt.

Silen shrugs. "Long as I don't have to know what I'm doing..."

Ro walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Halam knits his brow "I think you meet him Sandar. He's the fellow that
made that jacket for Mela...Me."

Telgar Weyr> Silanda probably ought to give in and create Silen as a
character...

Ro walks groggily over to pour herself some juice, seeming to be on
automatic pilot.

Silen waves to Ro.

Telgar Weyr> Sandar agrees.

Alwyn grins, "Hey Ro,"

Mehlani, quietly assembling a plate of food for herself, glances over at
the conversers; her nose crinkles once at the mention of kilts, but she
settles quietly down in a chair without comment. Rianet, yawning, peeks out
of a pocket, interested in food as long as Mehlani is eating it.

Alwyn looks to Silen, "The more the merrier, Silen." he grins, "Ro!"

Ro looks up and murmurs "H'lo everybody."

Telgar Weyr> Sandar says, "I'm afraid I have to split to pick someone up at
the airport... be back quite a bit later I expect"

"Kilts are the epitome of high fashion, y'know. Especially for men. And
they're good for the circulation, too," Kassima comments, glibly repeating
the old arguments. "G'deve, Ro. Don't you think the lads should pick up
some kilts while they're at Weavecraft?"

Sandar waves to run a quick chore. "I'll be back," he promises. "Happy
Turnday, Wyn," he grins.

Halam smiles and nods at his fellow stablehand. "Hi Ro."

Sandar reiterates to Kassi that he isn't wearing no skirt as he runs off.

Sandar walks towards the inner cavern.

Alwyn licks his fingers after he finishes his bubbly and waves to Ro. "My
da once wore a kilt,"

Alwyn smiles,

Silen thinks about that. "But what if the wind blows it up?" he asks the
rider. "I don't know if I'd want the weyr seeing my butt..."

Kassima shakes her head sorrowfully after Sandar. "Lysseth will be ever so
disappointed, I've nary a doubt."

Alwyn says "Wow...this is becoming quite a day then. *he looks to Silen and
sighs* It wouldn't matter for me, everyone in the weyr has already seen
_my_ butt,"

Alwyn shivers.

Mehlani blinks.

A somewhat sloshed brownrider in the corner yells helpfully, "And your
everything else as well, mushroom-boy!"

Alwyn glares at the corner, "I'm not mushroom-boy!" he shouts out. Wyn
wrinkles his nose, "That happens _all_ the time." he sighs, shaking his head.

Halam chuckles. Glad he wasn't here to see it.

Mehlani blinks again, pausing over her food. She glances in the direction
of the brown rider, then at Alwyn, then looks down again. She does _not_
want to know...

Ro smirks "If'n ya put it on -right-, the wind won't blow up it. Yeesh."

Silanda grins amusedly.

Silen asks innocently, "But how do you put it on right?"

Alwyn explains to Mehlani, "When you were unconsious from that swim in the
frozen lake, I had some of Flirk's klah and found out in the end, when I
was sober, that I had ran around the weyr naked. With oatmeal on my body.
With a mushroom stuck up my butt..But I still swear that that never happened.

Kassima shakes her head somberly to Alwyn. "Nay, you're the Mushroom
Master... or something. I forget what you called yourself. Ro, you've never
seen Lysseth snort at a kilt. Believe me, they go sailing when she does."

Ro says "I'd have to ask my Da. I've never worn one myself. I'm not a boy."

Kassima informs Alwyn gravely, "It happened. And you kissed the Weyrwoman,
too... or tried. As I recall correctly, she kicked you halfway across the
room."

Mehlani stares at Alwyn, blue eyes widening, progressively rounder at each
word of his little recitation. From the look of her, she's not at all sure
whether her leg is being pulled. All she finally says is a wary, "Oh..."

Silen gives Alwyn a fearful look.

Ro giggles "That'd embarrass Da for sure."

Kassima grins wickedly at Ro. "You should've seen how red K'nan turned,
when Lyss performed that stunt in front of an entire Gather! Even the
dragons were impressed."

Alwyn says "Perhaps Derva will make one for me...I don't mind kilts as long
as the dress-like things are in dark colors. *he winces as he hears Kassi*
I kissed you too if you remember. With oatmeal on your face too. *he
blanches* I think I kissed every woman in the weyr. *he blushes brightly*"

Ro says "And Sandy thought he was Leilanth or something."

Alwyn nods to Ro, "Yeah, that was funny."

Kassima nods to Ro. "And Kin thought she was a redfruit, while Taira
believed she could commune with the kiwi. Aye, Alwyn, you did. After saving
me from drowning in a bowl of oatmeal, klah, and kiwi goop... for which
I'll be forever grateful. That's just *nay* the way I want t'be going."

Silanda speaks up. "Not me...though the next night was certainly amusing."
She looks over at Ro, and grins.

Mehlani then stares at Ro, and back at Alwyn, her food forgotten. Her gaze
shifts warily to Sandar, and finally to Kassima. This is a joke, surely?

Alwyn laughs, remembering the night, "Didn't Pierron start hurling fruits
t'ward us when we started dancing on the tables?"

Kassima looks dead serious, if somewhat amused. "I do believe that
Journeyman Healer thought we had all gone mad, or some such thing. Who
knows? At the time, he may have been right."

Ro says "Why's everyone lookin' at me? I didn' do nuthin'."

Alwyn nods, "Vannis wasn't very happy, from what I remember, when I came
into the Infirmary and showed you my bum, Mehlani." he shakes his head and
shivers, "I don't like Vannis very much anymore.."

Silanda chuckles softly. "Certainly nothing as...potentially embarassing as
Alwyn did, at least."

Kassima is more than willing to inform Ro, "Actually, you first thought you
were a runner, then tried to Impress to Silanda. *'Twas* Silanda, wasn't
it? Anyway, you Impressed to *someone*... nay, Alwyn, that was rather
later. He ruined m'kiwi juice, plunking a *tuber* into it. Ugh!"

Alwyn grumbles as he hears Silanda, "Aye.." he says softly.

Mehlani stares back at Alwyn, now, more than a little warily, as if he'd
suddenly transformed into some mysterious alien being before her eyes.
"You're.... jesting," she finally blurts. And, unsurprisingly, she's turned
crimson.

Ro blanches and looks furtively for a corner. Now she knows why Channie
called her 'dragon girl'.

Silanda nods. "It was me. You did a pretty god job, too. You must have been
to a lot of hatchings..."

Alwyn grins at Silanda, and nods, "I would have liked to seen that, Ro."

Halam shakes his head as he remembers his own taste of the klah. He thanks
his lucky stars that nothing bad happened to him.

Kassima shakes her head at Mehlani. "I don't *think* he is, though that was
a'fore I got here. Personally, I believe him. If'n he was willing t'moon
the Weyrwoman and everyone else, there's nay reason you'd be any different."

"It was...memorable. But not something to be embarassed about," Silanda
hastens to reassure the girl.

Alwyn sighs, "I still get called mushroom-boy though...Embarrassment my
foot." he shudders and digs into his seat.

Ro shrugs and blushes "I've been to all the hatchin's here at Telgar."

Kassima hastens to reassure Ro, "Oh, 'twas nay that bad! You kept all of
your clothing in place, didn't dance, didn't talk to fruit, and didn't do
any other such thing. Which is more than most of us can say, who were there
that night."

Telgar Weyr> Aleta waves, "Heya"

Ro nods to Silanda with the beginnings of a shy smile on her face.

Mehlani, vividly scarlet now at the mere notion of an unclad Alwyn anywhere
in her immediate vicinity, hastily averts her gaze down to her dinner and
her curiously crooning fire lizard. Yes, tend to Ria, much safer place to
put her eyes. Better to just not even consider... right. Think about dinner.

Silanda smiles reassuringly at Ro. "It _was_ amusing, though. You do a very
good job of acting."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima waffles to Aleta, and just marvels at this picture Kin
commissioned. :)

L'mis walks in from the bowl.

Ro nods again, wishing she actually remembered doing any of this.

L'mis heads in, shucking his gloves as he goes in the general direction of
the kitchens.

Silanda waves to L'mis.

The blushing Mehlani keeps her gaze firmly down on her dinner now, one hand
serving as Rianet's perch as the girl lets the little green nibble on bits
of the food.

L'mis nods in passing to several riders, although his face is even and his
eyes don't move to acknowledge those he walks near.

Halam nods to the newcommers as he leans back and sips his klah.

Telgar Weyr> Aleta oohs, "What pic? :"

Kassima waves a greeting to L'mis, then returns her attention to her hide.
"Say, Al, that reminds me that I almost forgot t'tell you--m'grandsire,
Keyssin, is contemplating writing a song about that whole klah thing. I
told him the story, and he fell right from his chair laughing. Nearly broke
a hip, too."

Alwyn blinks and puts a hand to his forehad, "Aye, you're not jesting, Kassi?"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "It's a pic of Kin and Kassi in a snowfight,
with Lysseth and Herath helping.
http://www.gate.net/~cavelle/Kin&Kassi.html is the addy. :)"

"M'dear Master of Mushrooms, I never jest. Kid, joke, bluff, deceive,
evade, fib, and outright lie, aye--but jest?" Kassi laughs, green eyes
sparkling with mirth for a moment. "Never that."

Telgar Weyr> Aleta says, "Cool! I'll take a peek next time I'm at the Sos"

Telgar Weyr> Jalimax neats!

Alwyn sighs, "Master of Mushrooms...right." he sighs again.

Mehlani risks a look at Kassima. Oh dear. If her grandsire is going to
write a song... that means.... oh dear. The lass eyes Alwyn with something
suspiciously like fear, then rivets her gaze back on her food.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn /wows/. "That's amazing, Kassi."

Telgar Weyr> Maylia waves!

Telgar Weyr> Mehlani dequiets and congratulates you all on scaring the
bejeezus out of Mehlani. ;)

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Isn't it, though? Mylee Ejercito is *good*.
I've rarely seen a better Pern pic. It was my pleasure, 'Lani! ;)"

Telgar Weyr> Mehlani TOLD you people there were just some things 'Lani was
not meant to know. ;)

Alwyn looks to Mehlani, curiously wondering what Kassi's grandsire writing
a song means?

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn nodnodsnods to Kassi, "Yeah, I totally agree. It's
really good."

Kassima hrms, glancing down at her hide. "Actually, I should fill him in on
the Mushroom Master bit. He's been hounding me nay end for details, and I
think I forgot that one."

L'mis has a plate and is filling it from the spread by the kitchens. He
looks a moment at a bowl of greens and swallows. He wipes his eyes a
moment, and turns away, taking his plate and carrying it to his seat

Halam finishes eating and after dumping his dishes in the bin heads out
with a smile and a nod.

Halam walks towards the inner cavern.

Telgar Weyr> Ro says, "Great pic, Kassi."

He sports a slight pained expression and a little color on his cheeks, but
L'mis proceeds to begin the business of eating his meal.

Mehlani, it seems, has completely lost her appetite. She rises, a trifle
awkwardly with a fire lizard on her hand; Ria is shifted to the girl's
shoulder, and only then does 'Lani grab at what's left of her food. "Please
excuse me," she mumbles to no one in particular; with that, she hastens out.

Mehlani walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Alwyn sighs, "Please don't tell me I made her leave.." he frowns deeply as
he watches Mehlani leave.

Kassima abandons the letter she's writing to procure a measure of food for
herself, humming a song under her breath as she mixes things that were
never meant to be mixed. Fortunately, today's dinner is somewhat mild:
stuffed mushrooms smothered in maple syrup and shredded lettuce. "Probably
nay, Alwyn. At least, nay you alone."

L'mis doesn't notice Mehlani's departure, his concentration focused on his
food. He seems to be eating quite quickly as opposed to his normally slow
pace.

Alwyn sighs.. "I'm going to apologize.." "I'll be back.." he says softly,

Silen watches the girl run out, too. "She sure gets upset easily," he says
to nobody in particular.

Alwyn walks towards the inner cavern.

Ro shrugs "She's turnin' into a silly grown-up, I guess."

Kassima nods to Silen. "Aye, 'tis truth y'speak. I hope for her sake that
she gets over it, lest she be doomed t'wear a permanent path from here to
the Records Room."

Silen points out, "But none of the grown-ups ran off..."

Silanda says "I actually worry about her, sometimes. I wonder if she'd be
happier at a hold somewhere..."

Ro looks around and says conspiratorialy to those present "Her turnday is
comin' up."

Silen :grins. "We should get her somethin'."

Ro adds "So is Sandy's. It's the same day."

Kassima shakes her head at Silanda. "Away from her dragons, her Tsornin,
and the way of life she's always known? Mayhaps, but I find m'self dubious
about the likelihood of that." Again she nods, this time to Ro. "Aye.
M'cousins are working on finding a gift for her; I'm too short on marks
m'self, unfortunately, so I'm hoping t'do m'part by helping them procure
their present."

Silanda shrugs. "Yes, but there's so much of weyrlife she just can't seem
to deal with...well, maybe she'll get used to it with time."

Lysseth> Channie emerges from the passage leading to the guest weyr.

Ro grins with a sudden impish smile "C'n I go with you to the weaver hall,
Wyn?"

Lysseth> Alwyn walks out of the records cavern.

L'mis sighs quietly as he pauses in his marathon eating. He looks toward an
empty table near the hearths and shakes his head a couple times. He then
goes back to his meal.

Lysseth> Alwyn blinks, "Channie!"

Lysseth> Alwyn beams happily.

Telgar Weyr> A'lex waves frantically to the knotlings!

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn waves to his artist. :)

Lysseth> Mehlani, as Alwyn is apparently distracted by Channie's presence,
just bobs her head distractedly at the rider and creeps off into the living
cavern.

Telgar Weyr> Maylia waves back... but not quite so frantically... :)

Mehlani walks in from the bowl.

Lysseth> Tierth comes out of the weyrling barracks.

Lysseth> Channie looks up from mumbling to her wine flask and nods to
Alwyn, then shakes her head and tries a smile, "Hello Alwyn."

Lysseth> Alwyn frowns, "What's wrong?"

Silanda smiles gently over at the girl.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima heyasnugs the 'Lex! :)

Mehlani returns, the remains of her dinner still in hand, her young face
still bearing a deeply embarrassed expression. The lass doesn't meet
anyone's gaze as she surreptitiously points herself towards the hearth,
though Rianet trills in Silanda's direction.

Lysseth> Maylia slides to the ground, giving Tierth a parting caress and a
tender smile.

Lysseth> Channie waves bye to Mehlani and then blinks at Alwyn, "Wrong?
What could be wrong?"

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs, "You have no right to be unhappy during my turnday."

Telgar Weyr> Mehlani waves to A'lex. :)

Kassima nods once more to Mehlani, quite amiably--though a bit absently,
since she's distracted by tonight's dinner. One would be better off not to
look too closely at said dinner.

Telgar Weyr> A'lex got to spend New Years at a private party in Greenwich
Village thrown by Martin Scorsece's assistant... it was SOOOOOO cool... :D

Lysseth> Maylia raises an eyebrow at the mention of turndays, and shakes
her head with a sigh.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn hrmfs. "Lucky bastard. Scorscese is god.

Telgar Weyr> Silanda thbbbt's the lucky A'lex.

Telgar Weyr> A'lex says, "Well, he wasn't there... just Rinaldo his
assistant..."

L'mis takes a long drink of klah to wash down his meal. He probably took
five minutes to eat the whole thing.

Silanda chuckles softly at the 'lizard.

Lysseth> Channie flutters her lashes a time or two after lifting her hand
in a wave to Maylia. "Ah, turnday? It's your turnday Alwyn?"

Telgar Weyr> Maylia wooowooos! lucky you, A'lex :)

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn wonders about the actual spelling of Scorscese..

With a pained look, L'mis stands, pulls back on his gloves and walks out
into the bowl.

Telgar Weyr> A'lex has no clue...

Lysseth> Alwyn smiles and nods to Channie.

L'mis walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Lysseth> Alwyn waves a new beautifully done scarf, "I got this from Sandar."

Probably mercifully, Mehlani hasn't noticed what Kassima is consuming; as
she had before, she keeps her gaze pointed downward, looking embarrassed,
and dismayed as well. Nor does she notice L'mis's departure, though that,
too, gets a soft creel out of Rianet.

Lysseth> Alwyn points to his new belt, "And this from my sister."

Lysseth> Channie hugs her wineskin against her a little more, "I didn't
even know! Otherwise I could have gotten you something." Her words are a
little slurred as she tries to talk.

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs, "You're drunk.."

Kassima looks up, swallowing a syrupy, cabbage-covered bite of stuffed
mushroom. "What in the name of the Egg's amiss with you, 'Lani?" she wonders.

Lysseth> Channie shakes her head, "No!"

Lysseth> Alwyn arches a brow at the brownrider, "Yes."

Lysseth> L'mis walks out, avoiding looking at the others nearby as he
approaches his lifemate. Cocking his head upward, he says, "Sorry, love. I
just want to be ..." he lowers his voice, and swallows. "Alone for a little
while. You understand." He turns, and walks into the records cavern.

Jorenan walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Lysseth> L'mis disappears into the records cavern.

Lysseth> Maylia returns the wave with a smile, and approaches the two
slowly. "Lovely scarf, Alwyn. Happy Turnday!" Her eyes sparkle a bit with
mischief, and she cocks her head to one side. "Have you seen Makear today?"
she asks, with naught but a raised eyebrow again, for the inebriated state
of Channie.

Lysseth> Alwyn shakes his head, "Nay, I haven't, Maylia, sorry."

Lysseth> Channie just smiles. There was a greenflight, her dragon didn't
catch. She shouldn't have to explain anything to anyone. "I'm fine." She
says to Alwyn. "Those are some lovely gifts Really."

Kassima quirks an eyebrow, watching after the departed bluerider.
"Something seems amiss with almost everyone today, actually. I hope 'tis a
short-term thing. Evening t'you too, Jorenan."

Silen waves to Jorenan.

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs, "Perhaps you should go to the guest weyr until you're
sober, Channie?"

Lysseth> Channie sighs heavily, "I'd rather not. THEY are in there."

Lysseth> Maylia nods with a smile, and bobs her head in the direction of
the living cavern. "Well, I'd best go find her... I havent wished -her- a
happy turnday yet." With that, she grins to Channie and calls "Take care!"
as she turns and heads for the cavern.

Jorenan trudges in carrying his usual stack of hides. He grins at Kassima,
nods to Silen, and (after getting a mug of klah) sits where he usually
does. "Evening all," he says quietly.

Maylia walks in from the bowl.

Lysseth> Alwyn shakes his head. "Um...no..Aladis and C'vadan are in their
respective weyrs...It was awfully...quick."

Lysseth> Channie scowls at Alwyn being bossy and sticks out her tongue.
SHe's not going anywhere, and he can't make her. Turnday or not.

Maylia strides in, her eyes searching over the heads of others briefly. Not
finding who she's looking for, she pours herself a mug of klah and searches
for somewhere to sit.

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs and looks up above to see Nraith. Perhaps A'lex can
pursuade her to sober up. "Channie..please."

Kassima waves her charcoal stick at Maylia, greetingly. "G'deve t'you,
mentee. How fares with you and Tierth?"

Lysseth> Nraith backwings for a landing.

Lysseth> Lysseth lifts her head and *snorts* at Alwyn once, loudly, before
rumbling a salutation to Nraith.

Lysseth> Channie smiles prettily at Alwyn, noticing no dragons. "Please
what?" she murmurs, fluttering her lashes.

Lysseth> From betwixt Nraith's neck ridges, A'lex pats Nraith's neck before
unbuckling his riding straps.

Mehlani chews her lip, glancing at Kassima belatedly, and not saying a word
as the green rider's attention distracts off to Maylia. She keeps her gaze
riveted on the task of finishing off her dinner, while Rianet, on her
shoulder, croons gently and nuzzles her neck.

Lysseth> A'lex slides down from Nraith's back, landing lithely.

Lysseth> Kemith lumbers here from the north.

Maylia raises her mug in greeting to Kassi, heading her way. "Just fine,
thanks. And how's Lysseth doing?" she asks.

Lysseth> Nraith rumbles to Lysseth happily.

Lysseth> A'lex grins to the assembled, "How goes?" He spots Channie and
grins rather stupidly.

Lysseth> Alwyn rolls his eyes, "A'lex can you help me pursuade this drunken
brownrider to sober up?" he nods his head t'wards Nie, and looks to
Lysseth, "What did I do?"

Lysseth> Tierth cocks her head to one side, then the other, rumbling a
greeting to Nraith.

Telgar Weyr> Asrai says, "So, who won Asabeth's flight?"

Lysseth> A'lex raises an eyebrow, "Did she show up drunk or get drunk here?"

Lysseth> Channie sways on her feet, she's just lost a greenflight, or
rather Kemith did, everything is roses. "A'lex! Have you talked to
Kaaathaalll?"

Lysseth> Nraith warbles to Tierth.

Lysseth> A'lex looks confused, "Kathall? No, why?"

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs. "Channie..." he shakes his head to A"lex, "Kemith
lost Asabeth's flight.."

Kassima gives Mehlani a long, somewhat concerned look before turning to
reply to Maylia. "Oh, Lysseth's well enough. Grumbling about having to
listen to imperious residents when she's trying t'sleep. I think she's just
being a grouch--but then, she didn't sleep well, since I didn't sleep well
and kept disturbing her rest. Poor dragon."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Cav and Dulath. :)"

Lysseth> A'lex looks up at Nraith, "Good thing I was oiling you then, I
don't think I could have handles a flight tonight..."

Lysseth> Channie slaps A'lex on the shoulder, smiling from ear to ear.
"She's in love with you." She declairs.

Silanda says "Imperious residents? Someone bossing her around?"

Lysseth> Lysseth doesn't seem inclined to reply, save with another slightly
disgusted snort. Furling her wings tighter to her person, she turns her
gaze upon Channie and A'lex with mild curiousity.

Lysseth> Channie giggles and hickups in between which only makes her giggle
more. "excuse me. Sorry."

Lysseth> A'lex blinks, "She WHAT? Last I knew, she couldn't stand anything
I was doing because it was risking my life."

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs at A'lex. "Listen, my jealousy aside, you've got to
help her get sobered up." he looks to Channie, "I'm not getting depressed
on my turnday." he shakes his head and walks into the living cavern.

Lysseth> A'lex says "She was mad at me... she... she..."

Lysseth> A'lex just shakes his head, not again, no, not again... PLEASE!

Kassima shakes her head. "Oh, nay. That would probably only amuse her. Nay,
Alwyn's trying to get Nie t'go stay in the guest weyr, and Nie doesn't want
to--from what Lyss tells me, anyway. A'course, Nie's drunk, but Lysseth
doesn't see why he's arguing the point... much right in front of dozing
dragons." The greenrider quirks a rueful grin. "Like I said, she's a grump."

Maylia ahs, nodding her head. "So Lysseth is grumpy 'cause you didn't
sleep... how're you doing?" Her eyes flicker towards Kassi's abdomen. Once
a healer, always a healer, no matter what a certain green dragon says.

Lysseth> A'lex just gapes, "Jealousy? Wait... turnday..."

Jorenan listens to the caverns chatter for a moment before he begins
carefully copying from one set of hides to another.

Lysseth> Channie waggles her finger at A'lex, "Saw her at the weaver hall
and she -loves- you. You gave her her first kiss an' all."

Silanda chuckles. "I...see."

Lysseth> Nraith eyes A'lex.

Lysseth> Alwyn nods to A'lex, "I have a...crush on Channie. Channie loves
you, you love Channie, Kathall loves A'lex, and so on."

Mehlani very carefully finishes off her dinner, and just as carefully,
rises and sneaks off to the kitchens to get rid of her plate. Not meeting
anyone's gaze, the lass creeps off again, her brow troubledly furrowed.
This time, the route of her escape takes her into the inner caverns.

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn laughs at this scene.

Mehlani walks towards the inner cavern.

Lysseth> Cygnith backwings for a landing.

Lysseth> A'lex looks about to burst, "Oh, shards..."

Lysseth> Channie scowls at the mixup, "I don't love nobody." she states.
"Go talk to Kathall A'lex."

Silen glances out towards the bowl. "He's out there? Maybe I can help him."
He hops to his feet and dashes out.

Silen heads out to the bowl.

Lysseth> Alwyn raises a brow, "Kassima said you loved A'lex, Nie."

Lysseth> Silen walks over towards Wyn, eyes bright.

Jorenan looks up just as Mehlani disappears. He frowns at her back, but
then goes back to his copying. One duty before another.

Lysseth> At THAT statement, A'lex's face falls...

Lysseth> Alwyn glances to Silen, "Hey Silen.." he frowns, watching the
bronze and brown riders talk.

Lysseth> Silen grins at Wyn, and leans over to whisper to him.

Kassima grimaces slightly at the query. Once a Healer, always someone
Kassi's a trifle wary of. "Eh, I suppose I'm well enough. 'Tis getting
harder t'find a comfortable way t'rest, yet at the same time, I'm more
tired... nice paradox, eh?" She flashes a brief, rueful grin. "'Tis naught
but the usual."

Lysseth> Up between Cygnith's neckridges, Asrai wipes sweat off her forhead
as Cygnith backwings for a landing. She pats her lifemate's neck and
comments, "Now hush, I'll be fine..just a tad warm." Cygnith gives a
discontented grumble as Asrai undoes her straps.

Silanda says "How far along are you, now?"

Lysseth> Alwyn groans, peering at Lyss.

Lysseth> A'lex says "I..."

Lysseth> Channie frowns at A'lex's expression, "What?" She asks, doing her
best not to lean all the way over and fall. "Just...making this easy for
you." She shoots Alwyn a dark look, "WHAT?"

Lysseth> Alwyn glances at Wyn, "What?"

Maylia smiles, that patented patient smile Healers reserve for tricky
patients. Seems that's something they learn early on. "Sounds about normal.
You must be getting fairly close, then, tho not close enough for your
comfort, I'm sure."

Lysseth> Alwyn glances at Nie, even. "What?"

Lysseth> A'lex finally latches on to something, "EASY? Making WHAT easy? It
seems where you and I are concerned, NOTHING is easy..."

Lysseth> Silen shifts uncomfortably, finally catching on that maybe this
conversation isn't for him.

Lysseth> Asrai makes her way down from Cygnith's back.

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs, "Come on Silen, this conversation is for Channie and
A'lex.." he shakes his head, and walks into the living cavern.

Lysseth> Channie looks at Alwyn, "Kassi said -what- to you?" She blinks a
time or two to get the blurr out of her eyes. "Oh, run away now, go ahead."

Lysseth> Asrai looks about in a rather confused fashion, "What seems to be
the problem here?"

Lysseth> Silen shrugs, and waves to Asrai, and follows Wyn.

Lysseth> Alwyn sighs, "No, I don't want to run away but it seems that you
and A'lex have somethings to talk about.."

Lysseth> A'lex whirls on Asrai, a little more harshly than intended he
barks, "My life. My life seems to be the problem..."

Lysseth> Channie hugs the wineskin tighter against her and snuffles a
little. "Just getting stuff straightened out."

Telgar Weyr> A'lex says, "Oy veh! Welcome back from vacation to a big pile
of Angst, eh?"

Lysseth> "wha? You're life's not a problem!" Channie says thickly, "Just
want to make sure no one is hurt."

Telgar Weyr> Mehlani giggles. And, having found out about the Night of the
Living Klah IC, has run off to be quietly freaked out. ;)

Maylia sends a brief, confused look towards the exit to the bowl, her eyes
rather unfocussed. "What an odd comment for Tierth to make..." she mutters
to herself softly. With a shrug, she turns her attention back to the matter
at hand.

Lysseth> Asrai waggles a finger under her friend's nose, "Listen here
bronzerider, don't start with me...I'm not feeling so hot." She then turns
to Channie, "And your eyes are glassy...how much of that skin have you had
to drink?"

Kassima's grimace increases a trifle at that smile. She recognizes that
smile. Healers seem to wear it around her a lot. "Two months yet t'go. I
feel like a beached shipfish, save that beached shipfish don't have little
evil-spawn trying to kick their way free. At least Richenda's possets do
seem t'be aiding with the back, but...." She shrugs, and flicks the
ex-Healer a grin. "Do me a favor and kick me if'n I ever get into this
situation, would you?"

Lysseth> A'lex whirls back to Channie, forgeting Asrai, "No one is HURT?
What about ME?"

Telgar Weyr> Jorenan says, "Angst?"

Lysseth> Alwyn says "Kassima said that you, *he directly says this to
Channie* should not be pressured into a choice, that it is only your
decision, Channie...And I'm letting it be your choice. I just don't want
you to say anything you don't really mean when you are so shardling drunk
that you don't know what you're going to say. Asrai, mind your business.
A'lex. Talk to her. Talk to Kathall as well. I've had it. I'm leaving
_now_. I am NOT celebrating MY turnday like this. *he stomps off, pissed
off as hell.*"

Silanda points out, "You're in it _now_."

Telgar Weyr> Ro snugs the poor beleaguered bronze-rider, even if IC it
would freak Ro out.

Alwyn walks in from the bowl.

"Ever get into this situation *again*, then," Kassi corrects drolly.

Maylia flashes a grin to her mentor, breaking that traditional and
irritating smile. "Kick you? May I? I'll just make sure it's not when Lyss
is proddy, though."

Silanda chuckles. "That's the point."

Lysseth> Channie frowns and holds up the mostly empty skin. Not like it's
that unusual for after a flight. "OH dear...I-I'm sorry...Really."

Alwyn sighs, stomping into the living cavern mad as hell. "G"deve all."

Lysseth> Silen looks uncertainly after Wyn, then back at the feuding
riders, then shrugs helplessly at Asrai.

Ro lifts an eyebrow in mute observation.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre . o O (Feuding riders?) :) Hihihi!

Lysseth> Lysseth grumbles, apparently not exceedingly pleased to have
people now arguing rather *loudly* in front of her. What does a dragon have
to do to get some sleep around here? With a long, rumbling sigh of
exasperation, she takes a few steps back from the humans to try and find an
area that has a bit more in the lines of peace and quiet.

Alwyn sighs, "Juice, I need juice.." he glances around and pours some
citron juice into his glass and goes to sit with Ro, steaming, but quiet,
"Hi Ro," his voice still has an edge on it though.

Jorenan looks up at Alwyn. Guess he's still unhappy. Ah, well. His eyes go
back down to his hides.

Kassima nods to Alwyn, not saying a word to him; she recognizes the whole
angry look, and seems to feel it better to stay out of such things. "Oh,
assuredly you may," she informs her mentee. "Kick me. Soundly. A'course, by
then, 'twill be too late t'do me any good...."

Lysseth> Asrai arches a brow at the retreating Alwyn, her stomach making
her cross...not a usual thing, "We'll see." She turns to Channie and A'lex,
walking up to them. "Listen, you two obviously have some things to talk
about. Why not go someplace quiet so that everyone..like me..isn't sticking
their nose in your business?" She keeps her voice low.

Lysseth> Tierth seems totally oblivious to the people around, seeming
instead to be staring off into nowhere. Her faceted eyes flicker here and
there, though, surreptitiously watching other dragons.

Alwyn glances to Kassima, "What does Lysseth have against me? She kept
snorting at me when I was having that argument with A'lex and Channie."

Lysseth> Channie winces and turns to Asrai before bowing her head, "I'm
sorry." she says, pulling herself together somewhat.

Lysseth> A'lex fahs, "Go somewhere... I just got this whole thing dumped in
my lap when I dismounted from my Dragon! I didn't know it was going to
happen. If I had, I'd have probably never have gotten out of BED today!"

Lysseth> Silen ducks back inside.

Silen comes in from the bowl.

Lysseth> Kindre comes down from Herath's ledge.

Kassima explains to Alwyn, with a shrug, "She was trying t'sleep. Normally,
she wouldn't care, but she slept poorly last night--and that makes her even
more of a grump than usual."

Lysseth> Golrath's eyes seems fixed on the records room, flashing in
concern for his lifemate. He doesn't make a noise or movement otherwise.

Alwyn drinks half of the juice in his glass in one go, still steaming.
"Sorry Silen...I'm usually not that...mad."

Silen walks over to Wyn. "They do sound like they're going to talk about
it, though..."

Lysseth> Channie walks over to A'lex, somewhat unsteadily, "Can we take a
walk and talk?" Yeah, like she looks like she can walk very well.

Alwyn nods, "Ah." he says in short, then shakes his head, "I tried to get
it into their heads. I don't care who likes who anymore. I just don't like
people arguing like that, especially when one of the people arguing is
stone drunk."

Ro leans over to Alwyn She mutters to Alwyn, "My turnday... be...
turns,..." There is a nervous edge to her voice.

Lysseth> "Evening A'lex, Asrai...Telgar's duties, Channie," offers Kindre
as she takes a long sniff of the air. "Seems spring is upon us, eh? About
sharding time thinks I!" Now only noticing the cross faces and strained
looks, she blinks. "Uh. Hmm..." Rocking back and forth on her heels and
whistling, she then shrugs. "Well, need some feed. Good eve all."

Lysseth> Asrai pats Channie on the shoulder and rounds on A'lex, pulling
his face down to her level and speaking quietly, She mutters to A'lex, "...
what... there... a flight... is... best... in the... you. But you...
little... for... girl you... your heart..."

Kindre walks in from the bowl.

Pierron nods thoughtfully as he eyes the junior Queenrider.

Alwyn for once smiles, looking to Ro, leaning in to talk to her quietly.

Silen says, "She didn't seem _that_ drunk...I think you mighta sorta
shocked her into being sober."

Lysseth> A'lex looks half way between angry and tears, "Yes, I think we
better."

Maylia settles into a chair, hands wrapped around her mug even though it
really isn't chilly. Perhaps just a comfort thing. "What's going on, out
there, anyways? Tierth wasn't telling me much. She's a little..." pause.
Her brows furrow, "Distracted."

Jorenan looks up at the newcomer, nods politely, and then goes back to his
notes. He's trying to finish them, really.

Lysseth> A'lex mutters to Asrai, "... little..."

Alwyn mutters to Ro, "Yeah...Thirteen... big age...you're... an... But...

Lysseth> A'lex takes Channie's arm and leads her towards the great expanse
of the Central Bowl...

Kindre leers at Pierron, just to give him a taste of his own medicine. As
if feeling her desire to see him hanging from the cavern's roof beams, he
turns and fusses with the serving table. Grinning, Kindre then turns her
regard to the cavern. "Evening all," is her cheery greeting. Adding a nod
as she catches Maylia's words, she shrugs. "Faranth's guess...no one looked
too happy when I jogged through."

Lysseth> Asrai steps away, but not before replying, She mutters to A'lex,
"Just stick it... will... themselves out... the end. sometimes... K'nan
if... don't believe..."

"Being stone drunk is her prerogative after a flight," Kassi comments
absently, turning to wave to Kin in greeting. "G'day, Kin. Well, Maylia,
'twould seem that some folk--'Lex and Nie, now--are having a spat over the
whole relationship thing. Reason number... oh, feh, suffice it t'say 'tis
*a* reason to avoid relationships entirely."

Silanda waves to Kindre with a grin.

Alwyn says "I _should_ be happy, it's my turnday today.. *he sighs and
massages his temples*"

Lysseth> Channie trip, stumbles after A'lex, scowling at the muttered
conversation. As they walk off you can hear, 'Hey! Wait! What was -/that/-
all about?"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima ROTFLs at Kin! :)

Ro blushes faintly, and her expression reflects a touch of worry.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre is definately in a mood this eve ;)

Lysseth> A'lex helps steady Channie, and slows his pace as they walk.

Lysseth> A'lex walks north.

Lysseth> Asrai turns and goes into the lower cavern after watching the two
walk off.

Maylia nods as though she understands, but relationships are still somewhat
abstract for her.

Asrai walks in from the bowl.

Silen offers, "I could steal you another bubbly..."

Lysseth> Channie walks north.

Alwyn grins at Silen, "Really?"

Asrai walks into the living cavern, wiping at her brow.

Silen nods. "If it'd make you feel better."

Benden Bowl> Channie frowns deeply at A'lex, looking drunk, and lost and
hurt. All at the same time too. "I didn't mean to say what I did back there."

Alwyn says "It would. *he grins* Thanks, Silen."

Without looking, Jorenan takes a mug, sips from it deeply, and puts it back
down. Unfortunately, it wasn't -his- mug that he took a drink from.

Kassima smiles wryly at Maylia, and bobs her head to Kin. "I doubt they
are. The whole thing's a bloody mess. Asrai, g'deve t'you as well; feeling
any better?"

Benden Bowl> A'lex stops, waits for a moment, then turns, all the anger
gone, "I don't understand what just happened..." Only the sadness remains.

"Ah, Silanda," Kindre nearly roars at the woman, "just who I was hoping to
see. Richenda says you're just a marvel and I wanted to say thanks for all
your help to her. Hopefully I'm not running my mouth too much." It seems
the goldrider is in rather high spirits this if. If not, the 'skin of wine
surely will make her so. "How's that young...ah, Silen, hello as well."
Pausing at her outpouring of speach, she rolls her eyes while nodding.
"Relationships...too many reasons indeed Kassi. How fares with you?"

Alwyn glances to Ro, "Can we talk about the age thing later Ro? I promise
I'll be more attentive ...I'm just not in the mood." he sighs.

Silen grins, and ducks into the kitchen again; he comes back out with a
bubbly but by the sounds of things the kitchen staff isn't nearly so
pleased this time. Dodging a swat, he delivers the bubbly to Wyn.

Alwyn grins at Silen, "Thank you again Silen, it means a lot to me." he
smiles and digs into the hot bubbly.

Silanda blinks at Kindre. "Why...why thank you." She flushes a deep crimson
at the compliment, and fiddles unnecessarily with her sewing.

Benden Bowl> Channie continues to hug the wineskin against her. "I spoke
before thinking. I-I've been stewing about the whole Kathall thing. It was,
so awkward. She likes you so much. And-and I told her that I would talk
with you about it."

Silen beams at Wyn. "Long as you're in a better mood," he says.

Kassima makes a so-so sort of gesture. "Nay badly, Kin, nay badly. Being
twenty and five is turning out nay t'be so *very* horrible after all.
A'course, I could wish the spawn would let me sleep more easily, especially
since it seems intent on curing m'insomnia... but such are the joys of
pregnancy. How go things with you?"

Alwyn nods, "I am." he smiles again and drinks the last of his juice, with
one hand he massages his head.

Seems Maylia's lucky she's still holding onto her mug. But she doesn't
notice Jorenans slip-up, instead she's grinning at the scene near the
kitchen, that sort of dreamy I-remember-when smile.

Asrai looks at her hand, then wipes in on her slacks with a frown. "Yeah,
fine..just a tad warm, that's all." she jerked her head towards the bowl,
"They should be alright, they are at least going to talk it out now." She
looks rather pointedly at alwyn before slipping into a seat.

Alwyn nods to Asrai, "Thanks. I didn't mean to bark at you, rider."

Benden Bowl> A'lex shakes his head, "Yes, I had a crush on Kathall-- I met
her when I was a Weyrling, yes, I gave her her first kiss, yes, I really
liked her, but the next time I went to see her, she went off on me about
the Dragonrider lifestyle and how she couldn't tolerate how we put
ourselves in danger, and that she didn't like my attitude towards Sionelle.
The impression I got from her was that she didn't want to see me anymore,
that it was going to be too painful for her. So I got over it."

"Good t'hear it. You'll be glad t'know," Kassi tells Asrai, "that I've
already eaten m'dinner--well, m'first dinner, anyway--so you should be safe
from any *terribly* nauseating food discussion tonight. I hope."

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "I didn't know she felt otherwise, I was too busy
dealing with my own feelings about it to 'check back' with her."

Maylia's former healer-training is running on overdrive thisevening, first
Kassi, now Asrai. "A tad warm?" she asks, her sharp eyes appraising the
older rider. "You don't look so good... are you alright?"

Ro nods gravely to the nanny, and on impulse gives him a quick hug. Maybe
that'll make him feel better.

Kindre shrugs as well with a single shoulder. Her other hand is filling a
glass with her now favored flavor of wine: red. A few ruby drop do slip to
stain the table despite her best efforts. "I'm sorry to hear about the
insomnia...all else is going well with the pregnancy, though? And," she
says, her tone slipping a bit into Mother Hen mode, "when was the last time
Jh'rin came to see you both, hmm?" Muttering something of dragging the
silver-tongued rouge here herself if need be, she then recovers her smile.
"Faranth! I knew I'd forgotten something! Your turnday...shards, forgive me
Kassi..." Turning to gaze at Asrai as flickers of concern fill the air, she
quiets to listen.

Benden Bowl> Channie shakes her head, "It didn't seem that way when I ran
into her at the weaverhall." She looks down at her feet. "She seemed rather
jealous that I was going to get something to add to your weyr. That's when
I found out about everything. I...I just figured, things would blossom
between you two if you knew."

Alwyn smiles at Ro and hugs her back tightly, and leans in to say something
to the girl.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre ews and sorries for that spamfest :b

Asrai shrugs, "Sometimes situations need an unbiased person's opinion." She
grins at Kassi, as she picks at the front neckline of her tunic. "One
should be so lucky Kassi." She then nods distractedly at Maylia, "Yeah,
been warm all day.

Ro definately blushes this time, a distinct pink-rose color stains her cheeks.

Ro grins impishly She mutters to Alwyn, "... know... goin' to get...
Sandy..."

Maylia raises an eyebrow, and quietly murmurs to herself, "Seems everyone's
turnday is around now." Louder, she addresses Kassi with a smile, "Turnday?
wonderful, best wishes!" Returning to her study of Asrai, she distractedly
asks, "Anyone seen Makear today? I've yet to wish her a happy turnday."

Alwyn smiles warmly to Ro and nods,

Benden Bowl> A'lex inhales, then exhales again very slowly, "I don't want
to sound rude, but what in Faranth's name give you the right to make that
decision for me. If I'd wanted it, if I could have **DEALT** with it, I
would have persued it. But I do want you, and I'm persuing YOU. I'd hoped
you felt the same way... I **THOUGHT** you did from the conversations we've
been having...

Ro leans over and whispers in Alwyn's ear, her eyes sparkling silver-grey
pools of mischief.

Silen just sits back and watches his two friends, more amused than curious.

Alwyn bursts out laughing, as Ro whispers something to him, "He'll love
it!" his eyes twinkle mischieviously.

Kassima nods in assent, "Oh, aye. Backache, short breath, the spawnling
mistaking me for one of those balls that some Hold children play with and
kicking me from here to next sevenday... all's normal." Stifling a fondly
expasperated sigh, she grins at Kin the Mother Hen. "He visited awhile
ago." A rather vague answer, but perhaps it will suffice... maybe. "Oh,
shells, Kin--don't worry about it! I didn't expect anyone to recall it.
Unfortunately, Aunt Simerva did... you should've *seen* the horrible shoes
she gave me. I've foisted them off on Nie, who actually seemed to want
them. Thankee, Maylia! Nay, I fear I've nay seen her about."

Alwyn grins at Ro and whispers something back to her,

Asrai chuckles, "Aye, happy turnday Kassi." She wipes her brow once more,
speaking softly with a kitchen helper who quickly returns with a glass a
juice, beads of coolness dripping down its sides.

Benden Bowl> Channie shifts her feet around and looks up, "I didn't say
anything to Kathall other than I would talk with you A'lex! It was very
-VERY- awkward! She was...seemed hurt by the whole thing." She lifts her
chin, "I-I didn't mean to blurt it out like I did! I-I'm sorry." she winces
and frowns at herself. "I--d-do feel the same way. I, just was afraid
that..." she wrinkles her nose, struggling to come up with something more
to say through the fog of the wine.

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "We should probably talk about this when you're
sober..."

Benden Bowl> Channie frowns, "I-I just wanted to know how you felt. That I
wasn't mistaken."

"I've not seen her, Maylia," Kindre offers helpfully and shrugs, "but I've
been mostly holed up in my weyr and the records room most of the day.
Inventory for the arrived Spring and such." The Thunderbolt Wingsecond's
words draw her attentions back to her friend and she nods as Kassima
speaks. "Jays. Reason...what were we up to before Kaylira?...whatever it
was not to have children." She seems somewhat pacified about the news of
Jh'rin's last visit before moving on. "But I didn't get you a thing. Honest
as Herath's bickering that I've the memory of a brainless wherry."

Ro whispers back conspiratorially.

Lysseth> Azeth backwings for a landing.

Alwyn grins at Ro and nods emphatically, "Aye, I agree with you."

Silen jiggles his feet around, impatient. "Whatcha talkin' about?" he asys
Wyn and Ro.

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "You're not. But apparently I **DO** have some
talking to do with Kathall. Some talking that I didn't realize I needed to
have..."

Ro mutters to Alwyn, ""You didn'... for..."

Lysseth> From atop Azeth, N'kshar drops off of his lifemate's back as she
makes a landing, the green warbling amiably to the dragons nearby. Nikh
promptly heads off towards the Living Cavern.

N'kshar walks in from the bowl.

Alwyn grins, whispering back to Ro, grinning even wider.

Maylia continues her study of the bluerider, eyes flickering to Kindre for
an instant to respond. "Well, if anyone does see her, it's her turnday
too." A little half-smile touches her lips. Perhaps someone will recall her
relationship to that particular sister...

Ro manages to cover her embarrassment by giving the nanny another hug and
saying "Happy turnday, Wyn."

Benden Bowl> Channie takes a little step closer to A'lex, "If it makes you
feel any better. I have some talking to do with Alwyn too I think."

Alwyn nods to Maylia, "Yours and mine." he grins and hugs Ro back again,
"Thanks Ro,"

Kindre pauses taking a long drink from her wine glass and lifts a hand to
waggle it at newly arrived greenrider. "Evening N'kshar! How fares you and
Azeth? Well I hope?" Turning back to Maylia, she says, "I'll be sure to
wish your sister a belated happy turnday if I do happen to catch up with her."

Kassima has to snort amusedly at you. "Three-hundred something, I think.
Three-hundred and twenty-six, mayhaps? Well, whatever... there're plenty of
reasons nay to have them, but for all that I never thought I'd find m'self
saying this, the reasons *to* have them outweigh 'em all." Her smile
broadens with a hint of relief at Kin's apparent pacification, then makes a
face at Kin. "Why should you have to, Kin? I don't expect gifts. If'n folk
were obligated to get 'em, 'twould nay mean half so much. Thankee, Asrai,"
she adds to the bluerider with a grin. "And g'day, Nikh... oh, is it,
Maylia? And yours too, then--felicitations!"

Benden Bowl> A'lex shivers, "Yea, I didn't know about THAT."

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "Is it ALWAYS this difficult to have a relationship?"

Asrai drinks deeply from the mug of juice, smiling slightly. "Wow, lots of
turndays...glad mines later in the turn." She wraps her hands aaround the
cool mug.

Maylia's face breaks into a beaming sun-ray of light as finally someone
catches her hints. "Why, thank you!" she exclaims. The things some folks
will do for attention. That smile still on her face, she waves to N'kshar,
calling, "Heya!"

N'kshar yawns slightly as he enters, covering his mouth with his free hand.
A mug of klah is quickly grabbed, and he makes his way over towards the
Thunderbolt table, stopping short to give a smile towards Kindre, Kassi and
anybody else who might greet him. "Evening Kin. Azeth is faring as well as
ever. G'day Kassi."

Silen asks, sounding a bit annoyed now, "Whatcha _talkin'_ about?"

Alwyn grins, "Oh, turnday stuff." finally letting out some of the secret.

Benden Bowl> Channie giggles softly and rubs the back of her neck, "Well,
Alwyn is a nice person! I really do like him. As a friend." She sighs,
"Most relationships aren't this hard...that I've been in, but they say if
it's worth the effort you just have to work on it."

N'kshar also gives a smile towards Maylia. "Hey, Maylia!" He calls over
towards the other greenrider.

Silen oh's. "What kinda turnday stuff?"

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "Well then, this should be a monumental one once we
get everyone to leave us alone..."

Alwyn grins, "Gifts and stuff."

Benden Bowl> A'lex grins.

Silen guesses, "Like what you guys got? Or what you're gonna get Mehlani?"

Lysseth> Tierth, for all the attention she's been paying other dragons,
only briefly warbles a greeting to Azeth. About the same ammount of
attention she's given Lysseth. She then returns to her corner-of-the-eye
gazing at other dragons.

Alwyn blinks, "Mehlani has a turnday soon?"

Silen shrugs. "I dunno, but some people were talking about getting her
something..."

Ro nods gravely "Same day as Sandy's. But she's a turn older."

"Day thirty-one of this month," Kassi helpfully calls over to the folk
discussing Mehlani's Turnday.

Alwyn bites his lip.. "May have to ask Derva to make another piece of
clothing for me then."

Benden Bowl> Channie smiles quietly, "And if we can get all this 'crush'
stuff figured out. Jays but this is confusing to me."

Silen asks, "Why?" He's certainly full of questions tonight.

Lysseth> Cygnith sits watching the living cavern like a bird of prey.
Occasionally he resettles his wingsails against his back.

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "My brothers had it easy... but then, their wives
aren't nearly as pretty as you either..."

Alwyn grins, "So I can get something for Mehlani too."

Silen blinks, then chuckles. "Oh! That's a good idea."

Jorenan's head comes up as Mehlani's name comes up in conversation.
Turnday. Gifts. He bites his lip, and then looks back down.

Maylia plucks a tiny bronze 'lizard from her braid, and lets him crawl over
her hand, finger to finger to finger, flipping her hand over as he reaches
her little finger so he doesn't run out of fingers to climb. While doing
this, she watches Asrai intently, healer apprentice training still running
overdrive. "Is your throat sore?" she finally asks, softly.

Ro nods "I have to think of something to get for 'lani too."

Benden Bowl> Channie looks up sharply, her face red with a deep blush,
"What?" She giggles and drops the wineskin as she tries to give A'lex a
huge hug.

Alwyn nods, "Especially when I've got a sister who's a good weaver."

Benden Bowl> A'lex hugs her back, "You heard me. I think you're very
beautiful."

Kassima comments idly, "I'm glad I'm just settling for helping Kes and Eyr
with their gift, else all the Turndays would break me. That reminds me,
Kin... d'you think you might want to chip in on a gift for K'nan? I've
found something for Aph that wasn't too expensive, but K'nan's will have
t'be commissioned."

N'kshar sits down in his usual seat slowly. Anybody who might be watching
would probably catch the decidely thoughtful look on his face, as he
absently sips his klah.

Alwyn sighs, "I hope everything works out.." he thinks back to the argument
he was in a while ago and shakes his head. "Ah well."

Kindre, finally pulling from her thoughts and wine, beams at her friend.
"Kassi, I know I don't have to, but I like to! Give a dear comrade
something of a token on a turning of turns and such." Sighing, her face
then falls briefly before lighting up again. An idea? Though far and few
between, that seems to be the reason for her expression. Nodding as she
lets the idea sit, she says, "Oh, I'd love to pitch in. Dah gave me some
marks last time I visited...always one to care for the baby I
suppose...but, anyway, I've extra to spare."

Asrai blinks at Maylia, "Throat? No...nothing's wrong with my throat..just
a bit warm. This juice is helping.." She trails off, eyeing Maylia
suspiciously.

Benden Bowl> Channie continues to blush and tightens the hug, "Well, to
even things out, I think you are quite handsome yourself! I even think that
when I'm sober, and not under my dragons emotions!" she assures him,
looking up into his eyes.

"I had a stuffed head the other day," Kindre notes over to Asrai. "Richenda
said a touch of something was going around. Mayhaps you're beginning to get
that? Tea helps."

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "Well, we'll see about that when you actually ARE
sober," he chuckles. Taking her by the arm, he leads her back towards the
Southern Bowl, "C'mon, let's get some klah into you..."

Asrai nods to Kin, "Yeah, I might...stomach was a bit upset the other
evening."

Maylia furrows her brow and nods slowly, the nod increasing in tempo at
Kindre's advice. "Fluids always help, 'specially if you're hot and
perspiring."

Kassima notes cheerfully to Maylia, "K'nan's been trying t'get her t'see a
Healer since she threw up in his helmet the other day, but she's been a
touch reluctant. Kin, if'n you can't think of aught, 'tis all right!
Shells, methinks I should never have mentioned it. I'd nay the intention of
distressing you so." Her nose crinkles a bit, and then she grins. "Ah,
good! Here's what I'm planning for him...." She lowers her voice to a whisper.

Benden Bowl> Channie frowns, "Noooo!!" She struggles at the word 'klah'.
"Eewww"

Ro whispers something to the nanny, her expression one of query.

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "Tea then?"

Benden Bowl> Channie wrinkles her nose, "I guess. Or cider. Does cider help?"

Alwyn nods to Ro, "I was thinking about that too," "I'll get her something
else.."

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "I don't think so."

You whisper "What 'twas thinking of was a crossbow, mayhaps engraved t'be
in the shape of a dragon. He has a thing for weaponry, and 'tis about time
he broadened his collection to include something besides knives!" to Kindre.

Benden Bowl> A'lex says "Food would though..."

Asrai sticks her tongue out at Kassi, figures she'd remember.

Benden Bowl> Channie nods and slips an arm around A'lex, "Ok. I guess I
could try that."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "It was kind of the sort of thing that's hard to
forget, Asrai. ;)"

Benden Bowl> A'lex moves his own arm to assist the walk back, "Good."

Alwyn snaps his fingers, "I got it." he grins at Ro.

Lysseth> A'lex walks here from the north.

Lysseth> Channie walks here from the north.

Kindre's widened eyes and bright smile clearly indicate her love of
Kassima's idea of a gift. "That sounds perfect, to be true! Though it might
be something we'll need to hide during certain times of turn..." Blatantly
kidding...well, mostly...of the latter, she then blinks suddenly while
looking back at Asrai. "You...threw up? In his...? My word."

Lysseth> A'lex says "You doing okay?"

Alwyn nods to Ro, whispering back to her quietly.

Lysseth> Channie nods, paying a whole lot of attention to her walking. "I
think so. Food, I'll try food."

The little bronze firelizard scampering along the treadmill of Maylia's
fingers tires of the game, and sits in the palm of her hand, taking in as
deep a breath as his finger-lenth form will permit, ready to creel. To his
surprise, before he lets out so much as a squeak, his pet drops a peice of
roast wherry into his opening mouth. This done, Maylia peers at Asrai.
"Threw up? Are you certain you're feeling naught but a little warm now?"
Her expression is one of concern.

Lysseth> A'lex nods, "Ok, living cavern is that way..."

A'lex walks in from the bowl.

Pierron tosses some dough into the air to make it as thin as a sheet to
make baklava.

Alwyn beams. "Now, what will I get Sandy.."

Channie walks in from the bowl.

Asrai blushes slightly, "Yes well, Kin, you see..the meatroll wasn't
sitting well on my stomach. Then Kassi discussed her dinner..that was what
tipped the scales. K'nan's helmet was the closest thing at hand."

Kassima winks at Kin. "Let's just say I'm hoping Vey goes up *a'fore* his
Turnday, nay after. Anyway, I should have some marks for such a thing;
Aph's gift, as I said, wasn't expensive... I bartered it from Ashli, that
Trader who's wintering here. Along with this." She extends her left hand,
so that the ring carved of pure amber on her middle finger can be seen.
With the other hand, she waves to the two incoming riders. "Heya again,
'Lex, Nie!"

Alwyn 's beam dissapates into a frown as he watches Channie and A'lex enter.

A'lex walks into the Living Cavern helping Channie. They make their way to
a table, and he sits her down then moves to the food table.

Alwyn nods to Ro, showing off his scarf again, absently though as he
continues to watch A'lex and Nie.

Silanda waves to A'lex and Channie.

A'lex smiles at the sound of his name and looks up to Kassi, "Heyla..."
Then he turns to Alwyn and tries a half smile.

Ro nods.

Kindre ohs over Kassima's ring, "That's lovely!" Looking up as the wisp of
spring breezes filter in from the opened door, she too waves to the
arriving pair. "Greetings again Channie, A'lex." Wrinkling her nose a bit,
she then giggles. "Well, Asrai, I can certainly understand that."

Alwyn doesn't exactly return that smile to A'lex, he just looks to Ro and
talks to her, ignoring the bronze and brown rider apparently.

Channie waves to everyone inthe cavern only after she's safe in the chair
and smiles. "Sorry about the outburst in the bowl." she says quietly. "I
shouldn't let the wine do my talking for me."

Maylia keeps thwarting the little bronze's desire to proclaim his hunger,
stifling a giggle, however inappropriate, at Asrai's reason for loosing her
meatroll. "Well, Kassi's dinnertime conversations are oftentimes enough to
turn my stomach, too."

N'kshar notes A'lex's entrance from the corner of his eye, and turns to
give a wave to the young bronzerider. "Heya, 'Lex." He gives a quick smile,
and returns to his klah.

A'lex nods to Nikh and Ro and Maylia and Silanda as he fills a plate with
meatrolls and breads, bringing it over to the ailing Channie with a mug of
Cider.

Silen frowns at Wyn, glances over at the two riders, and shrugs,

Asrai shrugs a bit shamefaced and drinks more of her juice.

A'lex wanders past Asrai on the way, He mutters to Asrai, "... about..."

Channie tries the bread first, "Thank you A'lex. For getting that for me.
Maybe I won't be hungover after this huh?"

"Doubt it," A'lex chides, "but we'll see."

Kassima grins ruefully at Kin. "I'truth, I'm nay certain I should've bought
it. I don't make a habit of buying jewelry for m'self... just the chain for
m'necklaces, the chain-belt, and the circlet that goes with m'Gathering
gowns, ere this. But I saw this, and I just couldn't let it get away. It
didn't really seem suitable for anyone else as a gift, so...." She shrugs
philosophically, with another wry grin and a stuck-out tongue at Maylia.
"Pthbt! 'Tis nay so bad as all of that!"

Ro offers the bronzerider a shy half-smile... an expression that seems to
be more and more common for her these days.

Maylia keeps the smile on her face as she nods to the passing A'lex. Her
apparent healer-apprentice overdrive kick seems to have diminished, as she
makes no mention of the fact that water would prevent a hangover much
better than food. Instead, she returns Kassi's gesture in kind.

Alwyn mutters to Ro, "I don't... this... too... don't... turnday.... about
Ro."

Asrai smiles over at A'lex, wrinkling her nose. "Don't worry bout it." she
calls as he walks away. "Yes it is Kassi...oh, and Veyath should rise
before K'nan's turnday." she says mysteriously, "Or right around it."

"It's lovely...it's a nice touch as well," the goldrider remarks to the
greenrider at her side. "I truly do like it, Kassi. Oh, great Faranth's
ghost. I love you dearly, but your ideas of a fine meal are enough to worry
the kitchen staff," she teases her friend. "That's good to know," is added
with a smile to Asrai.

Alwyn sighs, and waves to Ro, "We'll talk about the other stuff when I'm in
a better mood, Ro." he smiles faintly to her and sets down his glass and
nods to everyone, walking out to the lower caverns, "G'deve all."

Ro nods to the nanny and murmurs "Take care, then."

Silen says, "Am I gonna hafta steal you _another_ bubbly, Wyn?" At the mere
mention, though, a passing kitchen woman brandishes a broom threateningly.

Alwyn nods,

Channie looks up as Alwyn stands, "Do you really have to go?" She stands up
unsteadily.

A'lex tries to unobtrusively steady Channie.

Alwyn grins at Silen, "Nah, not this time Silen." he looks to Channie and
nods, "Yeah."

Channie mutters to Alwyn, "... did.... have... sorry."

Kassima groans at that. "Shells... I figured she had t'be close, but *that*
close? With me nay able t'flee elsewhere? Faranth help me. At least 'twill
be ere his Turnday, and that's a good thing... Kin," she winks, "I worry
the kitchen staff all the time. Have ever since that wherry incident,
didn't you know?"

Silen grins, eyeing the kitchen warily. "That's probably good..."

Alwyn shakes his head, muttering back to Nie.

Asrai giggles, "Kassi..you sure you didn't worry the kitchen staff before
then?"

Alwyn mutters to Channie, "... didn't... my turnday, but... am... I would..."

Silanda says "I'd suspect she did, personally..."

Alwyn smiles to Nie and waves to Silen and Ro, "Take care you two."

A'lex just stares at a meatroll while Channie and Alwyn chat.

Lysseth> Tierth openly follows a brown dragon winging across the bowl
overhead, ducking her head in embarassment quickly, in case the observation
was observed.

Lysseth> Nraith warbles to Tierth curiously.

Kassima makes a face at Asrai. "I'll have y'know that I used t'be a
perfectly normal, quiet weyrling. The only odd thing I ever did in the
kitchen was carve veggies into the shape of small animals when 'twas
preparing 'em for stew... how bad is that, really?"

Kindre can't help but laugh. "I'm sure that story has been repeated as
often here as at Benden. Half of Pern knows you by that head!"

Silen waves to Wyn...

Channie bites at her lower lip at Alwyn's words. "I--I'm sorry you feel
that way. I mean, I didn't mean to drive you off Alwyn. I thought we were
friends."

Alwyn shakes his head, "We are."

Kassima informs Kin dryly, "I once went t'Boll and met a Fort bluerider who
heard m'name, snapped his fingers, and exclaimed, 'Oh! The bouncing wherry
head!' A'course, that was probably Nie's fault."

Maylia nearly drops the little package of roast wherry she's feeding the
little firelizard from, and stares towards the bowl. "Nice wings????" she
asks, aloud, apparently of noone. A blush starts across her cheeks as she
murmurs appologies for the loud comment. "Tierth." she mutters.

Jorenan finally finishes the notes he was working on, and stands up. He
takes his klah mug and disappears into the lower caverns. "Good night,"
floats up behind him.

Jorenan walks towards the inner cavern.

Kindre giggles, shaking her head while she refills her half-empty glass.
Maylia's exclamation draws a silvery-blue gaze from Kin and furrowed brows.
"Ah," is added in words to the young rider as she grins. "I still talk
aloud to Herath. Not a bad habit, unless you happen to be delivering some
message to a Lord Holder at the time..."

Asrai shakes her head, "You made them into the shape of animals? Geesh
Kassi..it must have been very late by the time people actually got to eat.."

Channie flops down into her chair as if her legs just wouldn't suport her
anylonger and sighs. "Hey Kassi! Those wherry heads were -not- my fault!
You were already in the middle of 'lopping them off when I came in the
'cavern I think."

Ro waves a brief bye and heads toward the inner caverns.

Silanda sighs. "Bouncing wherry head? Do I _want_ to know?" Despite the
number of times she's already asked that question of Kassi.

Ro walks towards the inner cavern.

Lysseth> Azeth regards Tierth out of the corner of one whirling eye. A soft
rumble is given and the green rests her eyes forward again. She's seen this
kind of behavior before. Not so long ago reflected in her. as a matter of
fact.

Lysseth> Cygnith only relaxes slightly as he seems to keep guard on the
living cavern.

Alwyn walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

"You've not heard the story, Silanda?" Kindre queries the woman oddly...as
if she had a bloody, decapitated wherry head in her own hand.

Kassima rolls her eyes at Channie. "I only lopped *one* off, and what was
your fault was that a Fortian I'd never met knew all about the incident!
Silanda, the wherry-head tale is one people seem to delight in telling; it
concerns an incident that occured when 'twas proddy for the first time. I
killed a wherry, dragged it through here, took it into the kitchen t'chop
it up, and accidentally let the head bounce through the Living Cavern. 'Tis
all 'twas. Really!"

Lysseth> Kemith stretches out his tired wings and warbles softly to Tierth.

N'kshar looks up abruptly at Maylia's exclamation, his eyes unfocusing
slightly. "Oh..." He mutters to himself, after some silent conversation
with his lifemate.

Lysseth> Tierth softly warbles towards Nraith, her eyes perhaps lingering
slightly before turning her attention -elsewhere-. Anywhere, in fact, but
Nraith's, Cygnith's or that handsome-brown-with-the-nice-wing's direction.

Silanda shakes her head, visibly regretting asking at all, but... "No, I've
never heard it."

Silanda listens to Kassi's explanation, and sighs. "Well, I suppose it
shouldn't surprise me..."

Lysseth> Nraith rumblechuckles.

Channie giggles softly as she breaks the meatroll in half, "Oh -that- was
my fault. Yes indeed."

Kassima mutters to herself, "You threaten t'castrate brownriders, and nay
anyone teases you for *that*, but chop off one little wherry's head and nay
anyone lets you live it down."

A'lex shakes his head at Kassi...

Lysseth> Tierth rests her eyes briefly on Kemith, whirling tempo increasing
slightly. She blinks, slowly closing each of the three lids, before opening
them all in a rush, only to turn her attention to the ground. Yes, the
ground. Fascinating place, it is.

Silanda's gaze shifts to Kindre.

Lysseth> Kemith settles back down, feeling a little better after the lose
of Asabeth that afternoon. At least a pretty green noticed him.

Telgar Weyr> A'lex says, "Anyone watching Simpsons? If not, you should be..."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima isn't... what's it about?

Channie sticks her tongue out at Kassi. "That's what you get."

Telgar Weyr> A'lex says, "It's a musical...."

Kindre chuckles. "It's a great story, though, Kassi! Oh, there're are more,
Silandra." Letting her glass sit idle on the table before her, Kin spreads
her fingers wide as she ticks each story off on them. "There's the Snowmen,
Sailing of Slitherth, the Ice Sculture, her running of the Auction, let's
see...what else Kassi? Those were ones I was able to see first-hand..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre goes to put it on :)

Telgar Weyr> M'kla is at work. *sob*

Telgar Weyr> Kindre aws, patpats, and snugs M'kla :(

Silanda chuckles, waving her hands. "Really, Kindre, I think one Kassi
story a night is enough...but thank you."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima turns it on, and ROTFLs!

Maylia keeps shredding the wherry lump despite the fact that the little
bronze firelizard has curled up and is fast asleep now. Her eyes rest in
the direction of the bowl, the conversation regarding proddyness going
unnoticed around her.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre acks and has an Army commercial...???

Asrai adds, "There was the three legged race.." She then gets a refill on
her juice, lightly wiping her brow when no one is looking.

A'lex leans over, He mutters to Channie, "How'd... Anything?"

Kassima grins wickedly at her friend. "The Lake Shore Incident is *still*
m'favorite. Did y'know that Kaylira has a name for Mart? Nay that she knows
him as Mart; she hasn't seen him since she started talking, actually... but
she has a name for the man in m'painting."

Channie takes a large bite of the bread and washes it down with the cider.
"A little I think. DO I look any less fuzzy?" She leans over closer to
A'lex to get right up into his face.

Telgar Weyr> Maylia will watch it when it's on here... still a couple hours
to go...

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "It's on commercial break. You just missed a
robber singing, or something like that. :)"

A'lex laughs, "No, I meant with Alwyn..."

Telgar Weyr> Aleta blinks, "What are we watching? :)"

Kindre laughs as Asrai jogs her memory. "I believe you and I made it across
the finish line on our rears, Asrai! That's the festival where I lost my
first mark." Speaking of that famous mark... "Oh, really? What does she
call him, Kassi?"

Telgar Weyr> A'lex says, "Simpsons Aleta... it's hysterical!"

Telgar Weyr> M'kla says, "Simpsons."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "The Simpsons. :)"

Telgar Weyr> M'kla sniffles. She's at work.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "heyla Aleta! :)"

Telgar Weyr> Aleta tosses snugs all around, "How goes? :)"

"'Fraidyman," Kassi answers sweetly. "I wonder what Mart would think of that?"

Asrai giggles, "A name? this should be interesting..what was it?" she
comments to Kin, "We're lucky we made it accross at all, Kin."

Asrai giggles, almost snorting her juice.

Channie sits back in her chair. "Oh, that. I'm not sure." she lowers her
eyes to the table top.

Kindre all but chokes on the swallow of wine she manages to get down her
throat rather than all over the table and people around her. "I'd love to
hear his reaction to that!"

A'lex nods...

Telgar Weyr> Kindre giggles!!!

Maylia shakes her head, comming back to her present surroundings.
"Fraidyman? I don't believe I've seen this painting..." She grins.

Telgar Weyr> Maylia waves to Aleta, and hugs M'kla to console her

Silanda shakes her head. "And I've no idea who you're talking about
but...Fraidyman?"

Channie utters a soft giggle as she catches part of the other conversation.
She nearly spills her cider.

A'lex says "Fraidyman? I don't know if I **EVER** want to meet Mart..."

Kindre's eyes brighten mischieviously. "Oh, it's one we commissioned from
Channa, when she was at Ruatha. She portrays a rather humorous eve when
Kassi was proddy and threatened M'rgan, from High Reaches. It was a riot!"
To Silanda, she grins. "We, my friend, should sit and chat one eve and I'll
fill you in on every good story there is to tell."

Channie mutters to A'lex, "... not... to... I... I'll just...tell..."

Silanda nods to Kindre, looking more amused than afraid now. "I suspect I
might enjoy that," she admits.

Kassima laughs. "I'm tempted," she remarks, "t'bring the painting down here
for you t'be seeing for yourselves! Y'see, this painting has him looking a
bit afraid of me... I can't imagine why."

A'lex nods again, "What else can you do?"

N'kshar's attention is snagged by Maylia, as he scans the cavern
impassively. He slowly stands up and walks over towards the greenrider.
"Uh, Maylia? Do you mind if I were to pull up a seat?" He inquires
unobtrusively, standing a few good steps away.

Asrai giggles, "A'lex..M'rgan is rider of Brown Ularrith who sired
Cygnith's clutch. He's also the brunt of many a Kassi joke."

Channie looks most innocent as people talk about 'm'rgan'.

"It's a date then, Silanda," Kindre agrees with a nod and smile. "S'long as
you can scrounge up some of those fabulous kiwi muffins." Turning to Kassi,
she blinks. "Oh! You should go get it!"

A'lex says "Oh dear...."

Maylia nods, having met Mart once. "M'rgan... he's the one we played
dragonpoker with, way back when? Y'know, Kassi, I still have that mark I
earned by feeding your horde from that night." She turns her attention to
Nikh. "Sure, N'kshar, of course!" she pulls out a nearby chair.

Silanda mouths 'kiwi muffins', and nods, bemused. "I can but try..."

N'kshar smiles, and takes the proffered seat, setting his mug down on the
table next to him. "Thanks, Maylia. It's a bit quiet over there." He takes
a sip of his klah, regarding the mug for a few moments. "How's Tierth?" He
asks after a while.

Channie breaks up a meatroll and then nibbles at one of the broken off parts.

"And nay the father of m'child," Kassi adds, favoring Nie with a
mock-scowl. "Just so that's clear! Aye, Maylia, he's the one... that was
right after a flight he won here, if'n I recall aright. Ularrith's a
favorite with some Benden-blooded greens." Namely Lysseth, in that
instance, but she omits that particular detail.

Channie giggles softly at Kassi, looking at the greenrider through her
thick lashes as if that were the farthest thing from her mind. "oh."

Kindre chuckles. "Forgive me. While we were still at Benden a few of us got
a taste for kiwis. I believe," she turns to Kassima for confirmation, "is
started as a craving during someone's pregnancy mayhaps? Well, in any
case..." Waving a hand to dismiss however the tiny fruit became favored...
"Ofira baked them into muffins and they were divine! I swear she regrets
seeing us we bug her so often of them."

Silanda says "I can ask her about them...or maybe she'd be willing to give
me the recipie."

A fond smile touches Maylia's lips at the mention of Tierth, followed
quickly by furrowed brows. "She's fine..." she says, cocking her head to
one side. "She seems to have an opinion on nearly every dragon who passes
by, tho. How's Azeth doing?"

Telgar Weyr> Silanda just wants you guys to know that I bought kiwis at the
grocery store yesterday...and it's all your fault. :)

Kassima laughs and eagerly confirms, "'Tis naught but sheerest truth. I
love kiwi... people keep bringing 'em t'me, and believe me, I'm grateful."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre laughs! You've been Kassimilated, Silanda ;)

Telgar Weyr> Maylia heees! and is trying to grow'em :)

Telgar Weyr> Kindre eeks at +flights! Maylia, you've not been taking
lessons from Kassi, have you??? ;)

Telgar Weyr> <Maylia> Mwuahahahaha!

Asrai giggles, "I thought she was looking a bit bright.."

Telgar Weyr> <Kindre> Herath << All these sharding greens taking all the
attention. Yeesh. What's a dragon to do...? >> ;)

Telgar Weyr> Mehlani just Hides.

Telgar Weyr> <Maylia> tierth << Cygnith has -such- a lovely.... EEEP! did I
say that??? >>

Telgar Weyr> M'kla says, "Faranth forbid she learn from Torinth."

Channie tilts her head, "Hey Kassima. Did those strange fruits from the
south taste good afterall?"

Maylia blinks towards Asrai, unsure as to the comment. Some people can be
rather dense at times, particularily about loved ones. "Well, I do try to
keep her well oiled, after all."

Telgar Weyr> <Asrai> Cygnith waggles his eyeridges at Tierth.

N'kshar hmmms softly, nodding his head a few times. "Aye, Azeth's good as
ever." He looks up from his klah.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre can no longer head for Telgar...she'd go to the Red
Star if both you and Kassi were corrupting her, M'kla! ;)

Kassima absolutely beams at Channie. "You can't even imagine, Nie! I think
*they'd* make excellent muffins, truth be told."

Silanda says "What're they like?"

Asrai nods, a sparkle in her eyes. "And does she normally give commentary
on all the /male/ dragons, Maylia?"

Channie makes a face, even though she never got to try them, "Did you find
out what they're called?"

"The muffins?" Kindre inquires of Silanda. Rather than wait for a response,
she assumes that's what the woman meant and explains. "They're truly
wonderful. Kiwi are sweet, but not terribly so if you put them in the mix
before they're exactly ripe. Have you ever had muffins with fruit in them
before?"

Telgar Weyr> Kindre rotfl @ the end of the Simpsons!!

Kassima smiles reminiscently. "Oh, most of 'em were sweet... those long
yellow ones and the melons, particularly. I still don't know the names,
though. Naught wrong with that--after all, I never knew what was in the
Perfectly Normal Sandwiches, after all."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima ROTFLs. "You too, Gracie Music dude!"

Silanda nods. "Oh, I didn't get any of the muffins but I did try some bread
with kiwis...I was talking about the other fruit."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "I hear that! You are -so- not listening!"

Maylia cocks her head inquiringly towards Asrai, questioning, "Male
dragons? She doesn't usually comment on any of them." She pauses, thinking,
muttering to herself. "male dragons... " Her eyes narrow rather
suspiciously (and densly) towards Asrai. "How'd you know she's not
commented on any of the greens?"

Kindre blinks before smiling a bit sheepishly. "Forgive. Seems I've an
attack of loose lips this eve, Silanda." To the others she notes, "You
know, my Dah used to get the most wonderful oranged colored melon when he
travelled to the south. I can't recall what they called it, but is was
softer than the underside of a baby bovine's chin."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre is channeling Emlyn it seems...

Kassima blinks at that analogy, but gives a thoughtful nod. "D'you suppose
there's any chance of getting some of that here?" she wonders, rather
wistfully.

N'kshar raises an eyebrow slightly towards Maylia. "Well, is she only
commenting on male dragons?"

Asrai shrugs, "Well, has she?" She asks of Maylia. "Made any comments on
the Greens?"

Silanda nods thoughtfully. "Sounds interesting, at least. Southern food
must be ood, though..."

Maylia notices that she's now shredded the entire lump of roast wherry into
hatchling-firelizard sized tidbits. The bits get wrapped in the hide she
carries food in, and slipped into her pocket. And the tiny firelizard into
another, as she stews over Asrai's observation. The whole while she mutters
dragons names, shaking her head, stopping at the questions. "Well... no.
Actually." Pause. "You don't think she's... oh, no!"Meat and firelizard
forgotten, she stares openly towards the entrance.

A'lex frowns, "Nraith has been rather amused with someone out there..."

Telgar Weyr> Maylia eeks! sorry for the spam...

Channie finishes off the bread and rolls and pushes her plate away from
herself, "I liked the yellow fruits Kassi. I think those would be wonderful
in bread."

"I doubt we can grow it," Kindre remarks after some thought, "but I do need
to get home for a visit in the next couple of turndays." Another bright
smile tugs her lips up. "My Dah is turning sixty turns!" Tilting her head,
she eventually nods to Silanda. "It is a bit at first. The climate, I
suppose, allows them to grow rather interesting varieties of fruits and the
like. I like most of what I have tried."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre grrs...how dare you! ;)

Asrai smiles softly at Maylia, "It was bound to happen, Maylia. But yes, I
do."

Silanda shrugs. "I'd be willing to try it, though. I do like the few
southern foods I've tried..."

N'kshar rubs his chin for a quick moment, before saying aside to Maylia.
"Aye. Azeth was just the same way before. And she's convinced of it." He
says delicately, taking another long sip of klah.

"Proddy? Aye, Maylia, indubitably," Kassi finishes, sounding perfectly
matter-of-fact. She grins broadly at Kin's news. "My congrats to him, then!
Oooh, Nie... y'know, I daresay you're right. They'd be great with bread,
especially with nuts. And barbeque sauce."

Maylia shifts uncomfortably, eyes flickering towards Kassi for an instant.
"I'm not acting... like that? Am I? Would you tell me?" Her cheeks tinge a
distinct shade of pink in a blush.

A'lex grins at Maylia.

Kindre grins. "Well, I'll see what I can bring back when I go visit Half
Circle." Tapping her chin as she ponders something or other a moment, she
finally says, "I believe it's around that time of turn when Dah's heads
down there." Smiling a bit at Maylia, she wonders of Kassima. "Have you
given her The Speach?"

Telgar Weyr> Asrai says, "Gee, should we tell Maylia that her head's been
turning around in circles for the past five min?"

Channie glances at Maylia worriedly. Her liver is going to turn into rock
if her dragon keeps managing to show up at all these flights. To distract
herself she turns back to Kassima as she catches the workd 'barbeque'
together with 'nuts' and 'bread' "Eeww Kassi!"

Silanda shudders once again at Kassi's choice of food...though not nearly
so much as she would have a few months ago.

Telgar Weyr> Maylia giggles! the Speech?

Kassima asks Maylia with droll good humor, "Have you killed aught yet? Are
you dressed all in black? Does everyone steal glances at you as though
afraid you're about t'go for their throats? If'n nay, rest assured: you've
nay been acting like... that. Nay, Kin, I don't believe I have. The
Weyrlingmasters might have. Maylia, have you gotten The Speech yet, on the
importance of controlling your dragon and just how hard 'twill actually be?"

Telgar Weyr> N'kshar urges Maylia to run away now.

Asrai makes a dismissive gesture, wiping her brow of a slight sheen of
sweat before wiping it on her pants leg. "O Kassi.." she mutters with a
shake of her head.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima says, "Is banana-nut bread in BBQ sauce *that*
horrible a concept? ;)"

Channie mutters to A'lex, "If... goes... I... have... into... to... no...
be... chase... so... don't... so soon..."

Telgar Weyr> Silanda fears it...

N'kshar just settles back in his seat, ceasing his abuse of his lip every
now and then to take a sip from his slowly empting klah mug.

Maylia shakes her head, observes her brown and green clothing, and glances
about herself in turn in response to Kassi's questions, and heaves a sigh
of relief. "How hard?" she asks, voice cracking a little. "Well, we were
told a bit of what to expect... but not much." Eyebrows raises, she looks
pleadingly towards Nikh, as if for help.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre gets off the phone w/SO and plays that evil organ music
for Maylia O:)

A'lex looks startled, "Think it'll be tonight?" he says a little too loudly.

Channie gulps down the rest of her cider, "I-I don't know."

Kindre crosses her arms on her chest and leans back into her seat. A
somewhat smuggish look is upon her face as she prepares to hear The Speech.
The one she heard mayhaps five turns ago herself when Herath was first
proddy from the same woman about to repeat it now.

Telgar Weyr> Kassima plays that rock and roll hymn from the Simpsons as a
prelude. ;)

N'kshar sits upright in his seat at Maylia's look, ceasing his abusing of
his lip. "Well... It's hard..." Is all he really offers, leaving the rest
to the more experienced in the matter.

Silanda listens, too, curious; not so much to hear it, as to hear Kassi's
version.

Telgar Weyr> M'kla just hides.

A'lex says "We could both go somewhere..."

"Tonight?" Maylia mouths, blood draining from her once-pink cheeks at
A'lex's question.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "there's no helping you now, Maylia
*cackle!snicker!* Bubble bubble proddy trouble... ;)"

A'lex says "Tonight?"

Channie sinks down a little in her chair, "We could?" She asks A'lex,
"WOuldn't Nraith be upset for you making him leave?"

Telgar Weyr> Kindre fears more the longer Kassi is quiet... ;)

Telgar Weyr> Maylia prepares to read fast....

A'lex says "You sure aren't in any condition to go anywhere, I'd have to
have Nraith give Kemith the visualizations..."

Asrai glances over at A'lex and Channie, shaking her head, "Don't think so.."

A'lex says "So I have to go..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre recommends /more on if you use tf :)

Kassima leans back in her chair, folding her arms over her abdomen as she
prepares to launch into the Speech. "Picture yourself, for a moment, as a
fire-lizard. A green fire-lizard, just hatched, with a wrenched wing,
sickly and suffering from malnutrition. Now, picture Tierth as being a big
dragon--big, as in about three times the size she is now. To a wherry,
'twould be Big Dragon, only 'twould be screamed at the top of their little
wherry lungs. This dragon is *exceedingly* angry, it might be added. Now.
You, as the fire-lizard, have to take on the monster dragon... and win. Get
the idea?"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima pthbts. I was just trying to remember the original
wording to the Speech. :P :)

Silanda's eyebrows slowly rise over the course of the beginning of The Speech.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre snugs Kassi and -=loves=- this speech! :)

Telgar Weyr> Kindre's fave part is the "screamed at the top of their little
wherry lungs" :)

Channie pulls her eyes away from A'lex and looks at Asrai, "Huh?"

Telgar Weyr> Kassima grins and thinks she left out a point or two,
actually, but the original Speech was half a screen long or so... which was
all right, since it was just Kin and Kassi. But in here.... :)

Maylia nods slowly, imaging first the very small, newly hatched firelizard.
The tiny bronze in her pocket likely aids this imagry. She nods again,
wrenched wing. This slow nodding continues as she adds detail, eyes half
shut, until the phrase "take on... and win." There, her eyes fly open,
wide, and her mouth drops open just as wide. "It's not... that... bad... is
it?" she asks, her mouth suddenly gone dry.

Telgar Weyr> Maylia wheees! and heard about the speech :) thank you! :)

Kindre sighs and shrugs. "It is...at the blooding...dearheart. You need to
keep control and a hungry, lusty dragon is a hard one to do that to. Just
keep your wits and you should do fine."

"Well," Kassi drawls, "I was exaggerating just a *tad*. But 'tis *nay*
easy--and if'n your dragon is as strong-willed as my Lysseth, that's nay
too far off the track. You can't over-prepare for this, and you can't be
too firm about your insistence that she *must* *nay* *eat*. At best, the
flight will be short and unsatisfying for her. At worst, should she become
too tired, and the meat too heavy... well, 'tis theorized that she could
find herself unable t'keep from crashing to the ground. I've never seen it
m'self, but I think you'll agree 'tis nay worth risking."

Channie shrugs and turns back to A'lex, "Perhaps it won't be tonight
anyway, and we won't have to worry about it."

Asrai answers in more detail, flipping the neckline of her tunic to let in
some cool..well cooler air next to her skin. "I said that I don't think
she'll rise tonight. Least not if how bright the others get is any
indication."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima grins. Always welcome! I rather enjoy getting to give
The Speech. :)

A'lex says "We can only hope..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre thinks it should be part of training :)

A'lex turns to Maylia, "No offence..."

Channie giggles quietly and leans over closer to A'lex, "Of course if it's
a few days off I be cheering Nraith on."

Maylia is beyond taking offence at A'lex and Channie's reluctance to
participate. At this point, she'd rather not participate herself. But to
judge from the shaking of her head, that's better than Tierth colliding
with the ground. "S-s-s-o, I have to -make- her not eat... and that's..."
Funny, she seems unwilling to finish that sentence with the word "it".

A'lex ponders that, "Cheering? Wow... this is complicated, isn't it?"

"Most of it," Kassi finishes for Maylia. "You've also got t'do what I
assume the Weyrlingmasters told you about, which is stay with her during
the... ah... catch. But that won't be half so difficult, because your mind
is already with your dragon at that point. If'n you could catch enough of
m'attention during a flight to ask me whether 'twas Kassima or Lysseth, I
doubt I'd be able to tell you."

Channie wrinkles her nose, "Well, it's likely that I won't be happening by
for a visit is all."

Asrai smiles, "Maylia, you'll do just fine..as far as I've been told..once
you get her through that part..she does the rest of the work. You're sort
of just along for the ride.."

Kindre looks at Kassima before returning a silvery-blue gaze on Maylia.
"That's it at it's simpliest." Leaning forward again, she pauses only to
take a few more drinks from her wine. "Herath was stubborn. By the Egg I
thought she'd defy me anyway." Nodding at her friend's words, she smiles
reassuringly. "Exactly. The blooding is the hardest. They don't want to be
caught and do pretty well after that."

A'lex nods, "I know, it's just funny that... well, you'd be rooting... it's
another thing to adjust to having a lifemate."

N'kshar nods towards Asrai, giving a slight smile. "Aye. It's the first
part that's hard. After that, you're mostly along for the ride, as Asrai
said."

Kassima nods in agreement. "Though, if'n--Faranth forfend--she should ever
wind up in a double-flight, you'll have t'keep double-control over her. To
ensure that she doesn't abandon flying t'fight with the other green. I've
heard tales of that, though the only one I've been here for--Tyrrath and
Zibrith both rose at once, several Turns ago--went off without incident."

Kassima amends, "Been at a Weyr for, anyway. 'Twas nay *here*, 'twas back
at Benden."

A'lex says "Double? Oich!"

Maylia nods slowly, trying her best to absorb this information. "Along for
the ride?" she asks, scarce heard her voice is so soft. The whole concept
seems rather unnerving, yet absurd to her. "Greens fight too?" her eyes
flicker towards Kindre for an instant, unwilling to consider the consequences.

Channie whispers something to A'lex and then leans back into her chair,
looking into the empty mug of cider.

Asrai smiles over at Kassi, "I remember that flight..we made fireballs in
the hearth with The Bottle."

Shayhou walks in from the bowl.

N'kshar puts his hand on Maylia's shoulder, giving the greenrider a smile.
"It's -very- doubtful that would happen." He says, removing his hand, and
sipping down the last of his klah.

Shayhou enters with her entire self soaked and cold. Still, cheerfully, she
waves to those within.

Kindre bobs her head slowly. "There's little difference between the golds
and greens, Maylia. Brekke's story could happen to any of the females if
faced with such a situation, I fear." Quiet a moment as she ponders
something or other, she snaps back to the conversation at hand. Waving to
the newcomer first, she continues to add, "Just as N'kshar said. I've yet
to see it happen, and I've been a rider over seven turns now."

A'lex blushes and grina at Channie.

Kassima's nod to A'lex is one of confirmation. "It happens. Nay often, but
it happens--was that the one, Asrai? I recall the fireballs, but nay when
'twas making them! 'Tany rate, Tyrrath and Zibrith's, Tabith and Tesith's,
and Siaroth and Melisandeth's are the only ones I've heard of t'date,
though that may nay mean aught. I'm nay entirely aware of the going's-on in
other Weyrs, after all. None of those three ended in disaster... greens are
less possessive than golds. But they're *capable* of fighting, aye, if'n
you lose control."

Channie smiles warmly at A'lex before waving to Shyhou.

Maylia sits on her hands, eyes thoughtful. She'd thought she'd be prepared
for the Hatching... and wasn't. She thought she'd be prepared for
Threadfall. And wasn't. Now a flight, that she feels unprepared for, that's
scary. She nods slowly, still trying to take in all the advice and
information, and smiles thankfully towards N'kshar.

Channie stands up awkwardly and goes stumbling off towards the cider.

A'lex says "Hey! I can get that! Ya just have to ask!"

Kassima smiles reassuringly at Maylia. "Really, though, doubles are few and
far between... and if'n you want to avoid one, just keep your dragon far
away from another proddy one. Lysseth and I had t'hare off t'Boll once when
Pliarth was rising the very day a'fore Lyss herself followed suit. The
trick's in knowing when t'get out of the way. Evening, stranger," she adds
with a wave to Shayhou.

Channie wobbles on her feet, "Sorry A'lex." she giggles, "I didn't want to
ask, but perhaps it would be safer if you got it."

Asrai continues to sip her juice as the conversation rolls around her.

Silanda lifts a hand to wave to Shayhou.

Maylia nods yet again, still oblivious to the entry of the stranger. She
takes a deep breath, in an attempt to keep her voice from taking on a
whine. "But... there are -always- greens ready to rise within days, it seems."

A'lex helps Nie sit back down, and with a kiss to the top of her head, he
bounces (yea, bounces) over to refil the cider mug.

Channie follows the bounce A'lex with her eyes as he crosses the cavern
"Careful! Don't spill that stuff on you." She calls after the bronzerider.

"That doesn't mean it will happen to you, though," Kindre remarks
reassuringly to the young greenrider. "Talk to her, be aware of how she is
feeling and you'll be fine. Get someone to hold your hand when she begins
to blood. That helped me," she offers. To the stranger she wonders, "There
a small fire, with it being spring and all, but it's warm. There's fresh
klah as well, I believe, to help."

Shayhou says "th-thank you!"

"That's why proddy greens--or those who are about due t'rise--are given
leave t'exit the Weyr when another's looking to go up," Kassima explains.
"I'truth, greens don't set each other off quite so much. Just because two
greens are proddy at once doesn't mean they'll necessarily fight or fly
together--look at Lyss and Veyath, or Lyss and Pliarth. You need t'know
what t'do in the instance, but you needn't assume 'twill be that way. The
most important thing to concentrate on will be the blooding."

Shayhou wraps her arms around herself and shivers her way to the hearth.

A'lex grins, "Oh, the scortch would be nothing compared to the burining I
feel for you!" Of course then he realizes he hollering that across the
room, and blushes furiously and moves quickly and unobtrusively to sit back
down and look as invisible as possible.

Asrai giggles, "I dred the day that Lyss and Vey go up together.."

Maylia offers Kindre a relieved smile, for the first -usefull- and tangible
advice she's been able to make sense of. "Someone to hold my hand? That
sounds good..."

Channie giggles at A'lex and blushes a color that matches her hair, "Shards
and shells! Did he say what I /think/ he said?" She gives the bronzerider a
close look, "Did you?"

Asrai's head swivels back to A'lex and Channie before commenting to Kassi.
"I don't want to hear another word about K'nan and me."

Telgar Weyr> Maylia peers... A'lex???? ;)

A'lex just nods and tries to hide s'more.

Kassima flashes A'lex a grin as she overhears his words--no difficult
feat--and turns her attention to Asrai. "'Tis my hope they never will,
m'friend! Those two have come too close t'fighting on the ground a time or
two as 'tis... much like their riders. I doubt either would be very keen on
the idea of sharing suitors. Hear another word about what, how nauseating
you are?"

Telgar Weyr> A'lex grins, and actually did type that before I realized that
I'd crossed the room to get cider, so I went with it...

Channie leans over giving A'lex a quick kiss as she struggles with
controling her blushing.

Kindre smiles to Shayhou. "You're certainly welcome. There's a plate of
meatrolls as well, though I believe they're a bit chilled from sitting out,
if you're hungry." Chuckling at Asrai's comment, she nods her agreement.
"Nor I!" Blinking a few times at A'lex, she bursts into laughter. "My word,
young bronzerider, you're well on your way to being a charmer, aren't you?"
Adding a wink to betray her joking jesture, she finally returns to the
conversation with Maylia. "It does help. P'tran helped me the first time
Herath rose...held my hand and kept repeating instructions at me. It helped
keep me grounded despite her grumblings filling my head."

A drunken bluerider off to one side of the room seems to have mistaken
those words as being meant for him. "Why, 'Lexshi," he slurs, beaming like
a foolish sot, "I ne'er knew y'cared!"

A'lex gahs and just turns redder at Kindre's comment.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre LOL @ the bluerider!

Kassima grins mischievously at Kin. "And here I thought you didn't *like*
silver-tongued rogues."

Telgar Weyr> M'kla thinsk she's missing something.

Asrai giggles at her fellow Bluerider, then nods to Kassi. "Exactly."

A'lex looks up timidly, face as red as a redfruit, He mutters to Channie,
"... know... love..."

Maylia musters up a giggle for A'lex's proclaimation of his desire,
breaking out of her self-absorbtion.

Kindre smirks at her friend. "It's Istan silver-tongued rouges, Kassi," she
teases.

Telgar Weyr> <Kassima> The bluerider leers hopefully at 'Lex. ;)

Channie just can't bring herself to look up, oh no. Although she does utter
a few soft giggles at Kindre's statement. The hair that tumbles into her
face matches the coloring of her face. "Honestly!" she breaths.

Shayhou shakes her head with a grin, wringing out one of her sleeves on the
stone hearth.

Asrai just giggles, glad for once that another couple is taking the spotlight.

Kassima makes a good-natured face at Kin. "Oh, c'mon now, Kin! What's he
ever done t'you? Besides, mayhaps that weyrmate of his is finally ungilding
his tongue, towards other women at least...." She pretends to consider this
for a long moment, then snorts. "Nahhhhh."

N'kshar casts a grin over towards A'lex, shaking his head slightly at his
old classmate. "Some people just can't help it, I s'pose."

Droplets from the wrung-out sleeve fall with little sizzles as they land on
the heated stone near the fire.

Channie pushes curls from her face, "How can you tell if it's a
silver-tongue or honesty?" She looks at A'lex "Open your mouth, I want to
see your tongue."

A'lex sticks his tongue out.

Shayhou says "It's bronze!"

Kindre laughs, shaking her head. "Jays, he's not all bad. I just like to
pick on him now and again...keep him on his toes." Returning a curious gaze
to Shayhou, she can't help but be her prying self. "If you don't mind the
inquiry," she begins in a voice loud enough to be heard by the hearth,
"what brings you to Telgar? I'm Kindre, by the by..."

Channie tilts her head from side to side. "Hmm, it looks normal to me. I
think."

Shayhou says "Hello Kindre." She begins to peel her wet gloves from her
arms. "I had a little accident in the river a fews miles up the road, is all."

Asrai shakes her head, "If he was silvery tongued..would he be so...blunt?"
she asks the room in general, talking about A'lex like he wasn't there.

Kassima shrugs at Channie, spreading her hands in a gesture of
befuddlement. "Beats the shells out of me. I figure if'n anyone calls you a
dazzling beauty and y'know you're nay such thing, 'tis a good sign of a
gilt tongue. Kin, you're evil. Have I told you that already?"

A'lex seems to get over SOMETHING, "Maybe I would maybe I wouldn't Asrai..."

Asrai glances over, "Ah, so you /admit/ to being a true silver tongued
rouge?" She looks over at Kin, "Did I get that right?"

Maylia appears quite relieved to have the attention shifted from her, for
now. Her eyes dart from the stranger to the strange conversation involving
tongues and silver.

Channie compresses her lips. "Well, I'm always edgy when someone calls me
anything more than 'cute'." She looks at A'lex in a new light, "Hmmm."

A'lex says "No, I'm a brazen Bronzerider who has decided he better start
speakin his mind if he want's to stay OUT of trouble."

Asrai giggles, clapping one hand over her mouth.

N'kshar hops to his feet, giving a smile towards Maylia. "You'll do fine.
I'll bet. G'eve everybody." He then quickly heads out towards the bowl

N'kshar walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Channie ah-ohs. "He's -brazen- too?"

Kassima agrees, "There's a difference between a brazen bronzerider and a
silver-tongued greenrider. Nay quite certain what the difference *is*, but
I'm certain 'twill find it eventually."

Shayhou drops her knit gloves to the floor and wrings out her black hair as
well, the threascoring on her left arm ugly in the firelight.

A'lex says "Yes I am, when it comes to you, Brownrider..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre sorries for idle :b Yeesh....

Channie nudges A'lex, her cheeks that had just returned to a normal
coloring starting to pinken again. "ah, I see! I guess I should watch out
for you then!"

Asrai looks at Kassi like her friend has lost it, "Umm, the color of their
lifemate's perhaps?"

Shayhou striaghtens, the beads in her hair clicking and her clothing
steaming in the fire's heat.

A'lex nods, "Yes, you better."

A'lex laughs at Asrai's comment...

"Better or what?" Nie makes a face and puts a hand over her mouth, "My
tongue is 'not' brown." She protests.

Kindre, unusually quiet, finally snaps out of whatever thoughts were
darkening her mind. "Hmm? Oh, me? Evil? Why, I'm the model of innocence,"
she remarks to Kassima in mock-defense." To Shayhou, she smiles a bit. Her
words, however, are touched with concern. "Are you alright? I'm sure we
could scrounge up some warm, dry clothes from the stores if you wish?"

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn ughs, "After seven blocks of walking through slush, I
have finally hunted down my food."

M'kla walks in from the bowl.

Pierron glances up as the weyrsecond enters.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre has an easier way: "Hello? Dominos?" ;)

Telgar Weyr> Alwyn laughs. "Dominos sucks. I do the gourmet thing."

A'lex grins evilly, the full image of Kassima at her best, "I can't tell
you here, there are youngins present."

Ursa walks in from the bowl.

Pierron glances up as the weyrsecond enters.

Lysseth> Tierth warbles a greeting to Spineth, eyes whirling slowly, before
returning her attention to that curious... rock... on the bowl floor. If a
dragon could bluch, she would.

Kassima snorts at Asrai. "I meant in *attitude*!" she elucidates, grinning.
Turning a measure of her attention to the stranger as well, she nods in
agreement with Kin. "Aye, there'd quite likely be something there that
would suit. Blankets, too... g'deve, M'kla."

Telgar Weyr> M'kla is lucky if she gets a baloney sandwich some nights.

Shayhou laughs lightly, with grin, "I'll live, I wager."

Alwyn walks here from the Inner Cavern.

M'kla nods to Kassima when she's greeted, scanning the cavern as she comes
in, looking for someone.

Shayhou picks up her yellow fingered black gloves and pulls them on again,
covering up the threadscore scar first.

Alwyn walks in quietly, looking at the floor as he does so, then finally
looks up at everyone. He looks placid, calm.

A'lex says "M'kla! Heyla!"

Channie tilts her head to one side and slowly leans towards A'lex. "Just,
say it really quiet." Before she lets him do so however, she waves to M'kla
and Ursa, adding a polite "'Reaches duty to Telgar and her queen's."

Kassima lobs a roll lightly at A'lex. "Watch it, 'Lex; you're starting
t'look a bit too much like me for comfort!" Ursa, of course, receives a
salute and a call of, "Evening t'you, ma'am. And heyla again, Alwyn. What
is this, late dinnertime?"

Asrai smiles brightly as she sees the new arrivals, "M'kla!" she calls out,
wiping the sweat from her brow once more. The front of her tunic seems a
bit damp, but a tall glass of cool looking juice sits before her on the table.

Ursa follows M'kla in, pausing at the door a brief moment, looking around
to scowl, before working her way further into the cavern.

Kindre says "Luckily it's spring," the goldrider agrees with a smile to
Shayhou. Having turned before catching sight of the woman's scars to greet
the arrivals, she smiles wide to them. "Eve to you Weyrsecond, Alwyn!""

A'lex turns an smiles at Alwyn.

Kindre adds another have and hello to Ursa as she follows behind M'kla.

Alwyn finds a seat near Silanda and her son and smiles earnestly, "G'deve
Kindre." he nods to Silen and Silanda.

Seeing the look on Ursa's face, Asrai settles for a wave of greeting to the
woman.

M'kla finds the person she's looking for, and makes her way through the
crowd towards a certain diminuative bluerider.

Maylia raises her hand to wave to the entering riders, interrupted by a
quiet intake of breath and a shocked look towards the bowl. Pressing her
lips together, with distinctly pink cheeks, she shakes her head slowly.

Silen is sitting before the fire, gazing absently into it; Wyn's entrance
catches his attention, though, and he waves.

Telgar Weyr> Kerlyn wows! Howdy y'all.

Channie waves hello to Alwyn too, a little unsure however."

Telgar Weyr> N'kshar ker-snugs a Kerlyn-type person!

Asrai smiles as M'kla approaches her, fanning her slightly flushed face.
"Is there something I can do for you ma'am?" She asks amiably.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "Kerlyn!!! :)"

Silen asks Wyn, quietly, "Feeling better?"

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "*coughcough*Telgarrules*coughcough* ;)"

M'kla peers down at Asrai for a long moment, then digs in her pocket, "I
was wondering, lass, if we could have a talk."

A'lex mutters to Channie, "... just might... in..."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre is truly much too much hyper...

Asrai's eyes widen slightly, "Of course..is here alright, or did you want
to go someplace more quiet?"

M'kla waves a hand, "This be fine. I were wondering how Cygnith were doing?
He's a fine beast, is he not?"

Channie mutters to A'lex, "... you! Just... you... to myself... I..."

A'lex grins.

Asrai grins, her face filling with pride, "That he is ma'am. In most
excellent health as well. Torinth, I hope you and she are doing fine." As
she talks, Asraio flips the neckline of her tunic, as if fanning herself.

Telgar Weyr> Ursa's been gone since the game dump, so I missed anything I
should have seen. :P

Channie sips her cider quietly, looking as though some of the effects of
her drinking are fading.

Telgar Weyr> Kindre was throwing herself at you, Ursa, since Emlyn's on
vaca ;)

Telgar Weyr> Ursa says, "Damn! The things I missed!"

Telgar Weyr> Kindre snickers!

M'kla nods to the bluerider, as if Torinth's heal was inconsequential, "And
ye...ye've been a rider for a good long time. Plenty o' experience. That's
why I'd like to ask if you'd do me the honor of flying as my Wingsecond.
Ole B'im's retirin, and returnin to Benden at the end oh the se'enday."

Telgar Weyr> Kerlyn threw Kindre at you too, Ursa.. :)

A'lex sighs contentedly, staring off... somewhere...

Telgar Weyr> Kindre says, "woo Asrai!!! Grats!!"

Asrai blinks, then blinks again, forgetting to fan herself. "Your
Wingsecond ma'am? Cygnith and I would be honored."

Telgar Weyr> Kassima woos! Felicitations, Asrai! :)

Telgar Weyr> Asrai smiles, "Thanks :)

Telgar Weyr> Maylia woooos! good going Asrai :)

A'lex blinks, coiming back to the present and grins at Asrai.

Kindre, getting the jist of the goings-on, smiles wide as she gazes over
the trio talking Wings. Holding her tongue until the promotion is
completely, she simply sits and grins.

M'kla nods some, that bit of formality over. She digs in the pocket, and
pulls out the wingsecond's knot. "Here."

Asrai grins, taking the knot. Then, on impulse, the tiny rider hugs M'kla.
"Thank you ma'am."

M'kla settles down and bugs a serving girl for klah. The hug takes her
offguard so much she actually laughs. "Aye, well, ye've earned it.
Cygnith's a guld blue."

Channie shakes her head slightly and some of her attention surfaces to
what's going on in the living cavern. "Oh, congrats." She murmurs quietly.

Kassima beams broadly at Asrai, grinning rather like an idiot--as, Faranth
knows, she's prone to do in circumstances like these. "Felicitations, most
exalted, glorious, magnificent, wonderful, fabulous, fantastic,
phantasmagorical Wingsecond *ma'am*!" She snaps a brisk salute.

Asrai winces, "Kassi, /stop/ that."

M'kla snorts a Kassima.

Kindre laughs as Kassima goes through her list of congratulatories. "I
couldn't have said it better myself," she remarks to Asrai. "I mean I
-really- couldn't!"

Maylia smiles broadly and earnestly towards Asrai.

A'lex says "Kassi, ye should really stop drinking..."

Kassima snorts at A'lex. "I've nay had a drop for seven months now!" she
retorts, then turns and simply grins at Asrai and M'kla. "'Tis
*tradition*," she protests to the former.
Alwyn glances to Channie, and shuffles over to her for a moment talking
quietly to her.

Channie giggles at Kassi, "Maybe the problem is you -need- something to
drink." She looks up at Alwyn. "Hi."

Alwyn mutters to Channie, "... A'lex... good for... It... course we're
friends.... I... someone as... my..."

A'lex stands, "I'm going for more cider..."

"Nay for two months more," Kassi sighs, this time to Nie. "Whether I need
it or nay. Ah, well; at least that gives me time t'replenish m'wine press."

Asrai takes a few moments to attatch her new knot, patting it with a little
smile. she then takes up her juice once more. At Kassi's comment she looks
over, "Only two more months..hat' not too long, Kassi."

A'lex tries to beat as hasty a retreat as possible to give Channie and Wyn
some uninterrupted conversation...

Kindre seems content, finally, to sit and listen to the conversations
around her rather than continue to burst in with her two-marks worth.

Alwyn mutters to Channie, "I... together."

Alwyn seems to stop talking and finally looks to Channie now,

Kassima chuckles at Asrai, smiling herself. "Aye, but they're the longest
two months of all. There're times when I'd almost--almost, mind you--give
all I own for some of the hidework that P'tran delegated to R'val."

Channie mutters to Alwyn.

Alwyn nods, "Of course Nie."

Channie stands up, a little more sure-footed now and gives Alwyn a hug just
to make sure that everything is alright."

Alwyn hugs Channie back, and turns around to sit back down with Silen.

Asrai's nose wrinkles slightly, "Getting bored, eh?" she asks Kassi.

Channie retakes her seat at Alwyn walks off and looks around for her
table-mate.

Silen leans over to ask Alwyn, "I guess that helps?"

Alwyn chuckles softly at Silen's question and nods, "Aye, Silen, it does.
Tremendously."

A'lex wanders back with a full mug of cider.

"Just a *tad*," Kassi replies wryly. "Just a wee bit. I'm still looking
through the Records for good story-fodder and all, and a'course I'm
spending more time with Kay now, but 'tis hard t'keep up with the minxlet
these days."

A'lex mutters to Channie, "How'd... go?"

Silen smiles. "Good."

Alwyn nods to Silen, "Aye,"

Channie mutters to A'lex.

Asrai giggles, "I supose it would be.."

R'val enters from the Bowl.

R'val strides into the cavern, heading klah-wards, "Evening, all!"

Channie waves to R'val, "Heyla bluerider."

A'lex mutters to Channie.

R'val fills a mug and finds a seat near Maylia and his friends, smiling,
"Hey Nie." He nudges Maylia with a wink, "And how're you?"

A'lex slautes R'val, "Heyla sir!"

Channie mutters to A'lex, "... going... speak... then?"

Kalie walks in from the bowl.

Channie spins the mug around and around and around between her hands.

Kindre, too far lost in whatever thoughts seem to be possessing her this
evening, finally stands. "Ah, evening R'val. If you will all excuse me, I
fear I'm doing little more than taking up space in here now." Smiling and
offering a parting wave, she heads for the bowl.

Kindre walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

A'lex nods, "Soon."

Telgar Weyr> Kindre sorries, but is working on something and listening to
the wizmeet :)

Asrai finds her juice empty and gladly takes yet another refil from a
passing pitcher.

Kalie takes a sudden deep breath as she sees how full the cavern is, as if
bracing herself. She peers around as if looking for someone.

Channie frowns, and says to A'lex "I'm a little nervous about that."

A'lex says "YOU are?"

Channie waves bye to Kindre a little too late after she's already left. "Of
course I am." She says to A'lex, turning her attention back to him.

Alwyn sighs, and sips some citron juice propping his head with his left
hand as he holds his glass with his right, muttering about getting older.

A'lex chuckles, "I meant that as in 'I am too'..."

Kalie takes a few more steps inside, still peering about. She shakes her
head and slips past the tables to head into the lower caverns.

Kalie walks towards the inner cavern.

Channie giggles, "oh, right. Although, I don't know why you should be
worried."

Sandar walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Kassima shakes her head, getting to her feet as well and pocketing the
letter she was writing. "Methinks I'll follow Kin's suit. I should finish
this letter ere I sleep, and as tired as I am, the latter won't take long.
G'deve, you lot."

A'lex isn't sure if Channie is serious or not... "But..."

Sandar meanders in casually. His eyes widen when he sees the Living Cavern
packed with folk. He smiles somewhat shyly in greeting and goes to take a
seat in the corner.

R'val spots Sandar and nods to him with a cheery grin.

Channie mutters to A'lex, "Unless...you... could... your..."

Silanda stands, slowly, with a yawn; "Time for bed," she tells Silen.

A'lex chokes on his cider, "No! Oh no! Not at all."

Kalie walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Channie waves night to Kassima, "Good evening Kassi! Sorry that our visits
was cut short again."

Asrai raises a hand in farewell, then does her best to suck down the entire
glass of juice. Funny thing is, she doesn't appear any less flushed.
"Excuse me everyone, I should go find K'nan and tell him the news." Sh
eflicks her knot with a grin.

Channie hands A'lex a towel to clean up the spill and winks, "Well...."

Silen groans. "But, mom..."

Kassima laughs, waving over her shoulder to her friend. "Fear nay, Nie; I'm
certain 'twill have another chance. Duties to the 'Reaches and her queens!
And to all, a good night!"

R'val blinks at Asrai, "News?"

You walk down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.
